Until the current Final Fantasy team proves me otherwise I will continue to be a sceptic about their ability to produce compelling products. But it matters less now that we have Sandfall, and can look forward to the next title in the Clair Obscur franchise instead.

I still hate the shift away from turn based in FF11 and beyond, and refuse to play any of them

FF WAS the CLASSIC turn based game, making it action combat was a mistake that I will never forgive

Literally would like to choke out the shitstain that started the 'turn based is over' meme back in the 00s

I bought FF13 after having not played any of them since the SNES. The ps3 was my first new console in like 15 years and I was excited to see a new FF game.

What a shocker. After a few hours I gave up on trying to play around the combat.

I kept thinking I was still playing the intro until I was like 20 hours in and finally realized that that was the game and was quite disappointed. The open world part is all right but it’s all way too linear
