Lost Ark EAC apparently got enabled for Linux one or two weeks ago and alot of people are able to play according to protondb. But a few seconds after I enter character select I get a message saying that EAC is offline. I've tried proton-em, -ge and experimental but it's the same for all.

I've had the same problem with Armored Core 6 (also EAC), where the multiplayer was working out of the box for others except me.

Does anyone have any idea what I'm missing here? If not, does anyone know other places I could ask for support?

Edit: ugh... If anyone comes across this, I had previously disabled EAC via an entry in the hosts file which is required to run Star Citizen...

Maybe try using glibc-eac as per Wiki and my own experience with SOT.

I did install it, but doesn't make a difference :/ I also did have steam create a new compatdata folder for the game afterwards.

I also noticed all the Steam Linux Runtimes were on my NTFS drive, so I moved them on my home; the game itself is also on an ext4 partition.

Did you ensure that your game is using the correct glibc? (Saying this naively, never had to use it)

When I installed glibc-eac the standard glibc was removed because they're conflicting packages

Good start. How are you launching the game? Some infrastructure might be running their own glibc...

I'm thinking about lutris or bottles. Maybe those have EAC settings too.

Just play via native Steam.

I'll let others go at it, I'm out of ideas

Maybe try the Steam flatpak. Perhaps you are missing some dependency.

That's what I was hoping to avoid but I might try it. Maybe the flatpak dependcies being installed will already tell me if I'm missing something
