An unofficial chapter of the popular Dull Men's Club.

this reminds me of working on my wiring harness to my odb2 port that's under the dashboard.
I'm over 6 feet tall. I opened the sunroof, back to the seat, feet through the roof, and slid my head down under the dash.
not fun but ygdwygd.
The last word I was trying to pronounce in Welsh till I realized it was an acronym lol.
I had to pull the fan motor out of a Toyota Echo. I had to remove the passenger seat and lay on my back with head under the dashboard. Apparently smaller people can attempt it with the seat still in , but there is no way I'd fit upside-down in the foot well wit the seat there

i'm torn... i'm in a place where i hate my kitchen and want to rebuild it, but also that is super expensive and i cant afford it. not sure if i want to go through with putting fishhooks on this foil-wrapped turd.
Just get a few of those little battery powered ones as a stop-gap.
We have the magnetic rechargeable ones. They're awesome! Motion activated and if you need to look for something in a dark bottom cabinet you can just grab one.
We got some of these but the cats walking around set them off all night and the batteries don't last more than a week
I bought Ikea Mittled second handed for like 15€ with 5€ power cable and a gifted bridge connector, it was easy to install and looks really really nice. Might be an option for ya :)
Under cabinet lighting is super easy and cheap. Get the IKEA ones that just go on with double sided tape (included) and plug into an outlet.

These are really cool because the wire is stiff enough that you can shape it, and light enough that they don’t require permanent mounting equipment; I like those removable 3M hooks personally. So you don’t need to hide them under your cabinets, and can make fun designs on your backsplash.
I bought USB powered led strip and just plugged it into an outlet. Helped a ton and as a renter I just ripped it out when j oved out.
You installing them or doing a ballast bypass or something?
Swapping some out for a customer, yeah.
I rather recently got into messing with electrical for my job. Since we're in Cali we can't get florescents any more, so when our dimmers started going out I looked into swapping over to LED dimmers. The cost was insane even for a DOI. 20 lamps meant I had to replace every socket cuz the 4 pins we had weren't cost effective, add dimmer controllers to each lamp, and rewire the whole thing cuz they had it daisy chained and the LED wiring plan wouldn't have worked the same.
Glad I never had to do it but damn was it an eye opener to how chaotic commercial fixtures can be set up. Much respect to someone who specializes in this cuz it was quite daunting
The type I used for my kitchen had tape backing and it looks like a similar hassle to install as what you're going through. I told myself next time I put any in that I'm buying a staple gun for the project. I think I can safely assume you've done it more than my one time, so tell me: is that a stupid idea? The biggest booger for me was securing the 18 gauge wire I ran under a window to the next set of cabinets, but I'm not against using a staple gun for anything that doesn't adhere properly. If you've got a better method please do share
Nah staples are perfect for that kind of thing, just make sure it doesn't pinch your wire
