Yeah, I need to pivot to stress exercising.

Jesus .... the amount of sugar and sodium in that one biscuit for that little guy would be enough to give it instant diabetes just before giving it a heart attack

Its for pets, but ya, it’s not great:

[–] Hupf@feddit.org 14 points 3 days ago

Batteries included: no

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 9 points 3 days ago

Even the human ones are not great for humans ... I used to love them as a kid and I cringe when I think about gobbling them up knowing now how loaded they were with sugar and salt. I still love them and would eat ten pounds of them if I chose to .... but they're terribly unhealthy.

The two extremes here seem to be 'eat binge trash' and 'starve' with nothong in between.

Am i the only one who binges on spinach and fruit and nuts?

[–] rmuk@feddit.uk 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Oh, yeah, fruit and nut for sure. I can polish off a few at a time.

Thanks; i really needed to feel more alienated. You're such a friend.

[–] BuboScandiacus@mander.xyz 2 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

If the said fruit are cherries; no.

Sometimes, if it's cherry season. Yeah. Otherwise probably not.

[–] cacti@ani.social 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I have binged on nuts as well, but some nuts are also very calorie-dense and can cause weight gain too.

They can! But those calories arent empty.

[–] Iapetus@slrpnk.net 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

You're not alone. I stress binge on melons (or apples, depending on the season), popcorn and miso soup full of leafy veg and rice noodles.

That last one sounds so good right now.

Me stressing about eating healthier

[–] Beebabe@lemmy.world 14 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Yeah I just made a tube of cinnamon rolls guess I have to eat them all now

[–] outhouseperilous@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

This is why you should get to know your neighbors.

Not for disaster resiliency.

Not to ward off the hyperalienation of late neoliberal capitalism.

Not to stand stronger against repression.

To pawn off extra snacks you made too many of and avoid overeating.

[–] CatLikeLemming@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

On the other hand it's just a good way to get to know your neighbours. I baked too many sweets a while back and shared them around and now they know me better and, I believe, are generally more fond of me. So win win, I get better relations with them and they get sweets :3

Bribery; the way to weight loss?

[–] affiliate@lemmy.world 12 points 3 days ago (2 children)

i have brute forced this by not buying any kinds of snacks or sweets from the grocery store. so if i want to eat something i have to either go hungry or make a real food. (usually i end up doing both)

[–] Katana314@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago (2 children)

One alternative I’ve suggested is that you can have cookies and snacks, but you have to bake them yourself. Puts some effort and friction on the task.

[–] Rekorse@sh.itjust.works 4 points 3 days ago

Good idea, bad example considering how much people love to eat raw cookie dough.

[–] Prok@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

I'll happily bake 2 dozen cookies today to eat them all in one sitting tomorrow...

[–] Biyoo@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I did the same, lost 30 pounds since. I just don't have the mental strength to avoid snacks when I'm anxious, stressed or depressed. It's the only thing that worked for me.

[–] affiliate@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

i’m the same way, and after a while i’ve come to appreciate feeling like i don’t need the strength: if i set up my environment properly then eating healthy is one less thing i have to worry about, and i can use the leftover mental strength for other things.

[–] JadenSmith@sh.itjust.works 4 points 3 days ago

I ate an extra large pizza to myself yesterday...

I'm still normal weight it was just a night, however stress eating is no joke...

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

Aren't those strawberry? Strawberry = fruit, last time I checked?

[–] Kyle_The_G@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

I can't eat at all when I get stressed but still feel like shit

[–] Rekorse@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 days ago

Find something that reduces your stress without increasing weight. There's tons of options ranging from healthy to ridiculously dangerous.

[–] HEXN3T@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

This but the opposite for me:

"I need to start eating more"

Slightest amount of stress:

[Starvation]

[–] Landless2029@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago

This is also me but then I go for the chocolate...

Less real food more junk food. Snacks for dinner. Ive had water and candy today (I don't buy soda or it would be that). Last "meal" was a sandwich like 18 hours ago.

[–] atocci@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago (1 children)

My solution has been D I E T P E P S I

I should probably remove the bag of Lemonade Rings (gummys) from my desk, eh.

[–] blarghly@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I've found a simple fix to this is, when I want to stress eat, just eat more protein. It tends to be delicious and to scratch the "eat lots of food" itch, but is also satiating and not processed junk.

[–] Lazhward@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

not processed junk

Uhhhhh hey, I've got bad news for you.

[–] blarghly@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)
[–] Lazhward@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Most protein rich foods are processed junk no? Unless you're downing cans of beans maybe.

[–] blarghly@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

No? I do eat a lot of beans, but also eat fresh meat that I cook in advance. I'm not chowing down on hot dogs and slim jims

[–] Lazhward@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

Ah, hadn't really considered someone having cooked meats laying around as a snack...

And I know it's pedantic, and calling it 'junk' would be too much certainly, but if you salt that meat and cook it in oil it's not truly unprocessed.

[–] baggins@lemmy.ca 2 points 4 days ago

Man those wafer things taste so disgusting to me.
