If democrats just inch a little more to the right, it’s sure to be fruitful this time around.
Democrats would rather win over Trump voters than move left even one inch
Large majorities favor raising the minimum wage, import limits to protect jobs, increasing spending on social security and Medicare, using federal power to bring down the cost of prescription drugs, expanding federal funding for public schools, making it easier to join a union, increasing infrastructure spending, implementing a millionaires’ tax, and even the notion of a job guarantee.
This is how "opening up to the Republican centrist voters" looks like BTW, not parading Cheney around on a stage.
This is how “opening up to the Republican centrist voters” looks like
No, it's not.
This us moving to the left.
And the very very sad fact is the people who had been running the party for decades knew it was that easy if it worked for Barack Hussein Obama in 2008, it will still work today. But the wealthy donate money to both sides to ensure that's not an option.
That is no longer the case. The failures of the 2024 election made the voting members of the DNC finally pivot away from neoliberals and named a chair who legitimately runs fair primaries and will support anyone with a D by their name in the general.
The big is already done and settled, the people have a party again.
We just have to try and prevent people from falling from billionaire propaganda whose goal is to depress dem.primary turnout.
No matter what happens, we need a shit ton of turnout in the next presidential primary. If a neoliberal somehow wins due to depressed turnout, and they win the general....
Then they'll put the neoliberals back in charge of the DNC and we lose the best chance we've had in over 50 years to actually fix our political system. If it doesn't work this time, it's likely our last chance for a very long time, at least peacefully
No, it’s not.
This us moving to the left.

If Republican right wing voters and Democratic left wing voters both want to tax millionaires, unionise, public funding for healthcare and education, then that is the policial centre by definition.
And anyone not for these things is a far right radical, including the neolib wing of the DNC.
My point is that despite how it is portrayed everywhere, the US is not in general a right wing conservative country, and neither are the rural areas.
then that is the policial centre by definition.
By the shitty neoliberl "logic" that got us into this exact scenario
It's crazy to still be repeating this, but:
Stop listening to what neoliberals told you. Virtually none of it was based on fact it was just whatever they thought would excuse their behavior.
Doing what you suggested is to the left of both parties last presidential candidate. Voters don't want that because some voters from both parties want it
They want it because voters across the political spectrum approve of progressive policy
That's why the billionaires are so fucking scared
You still don’t understand that your efforts are part of what got Trump elected?
When will you start acting differently?
Import limits don’t protect jobs. They make it so that foreign products compete more in other markets that domestic products want to succeed in.
Harris had the majority of that on her platform and no one seemed to even care, acting as if she's literally just Trump lite despite being incredibly far from that.
She didn't say she would do a single one of those things.
you know those are things that Congress has to do, right?
Yes?
You know politicians lie?
Biden said he would wipe out the student debt and make college free. He literally said that.
Yeah yeah i know his hands were tied, most powerful man in the world is somehow totally impotent. I'm over the convenient excuses for Dem failures that make their doners happy.
She said she wanted the minimum wage increased to "at least $15": https://www.cnn.com/2024/10/23/politics/federal-minimum-wage-harris-trump
She talked about how she wanted to invest more in infrastructure in the debate when talking about the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, saying it was a good start but there needs to be more. Here's a link to details about how that would look (largely investment in new green energy productions and building millions of affordable homes which she talked multiple times): https://www.mintz.com/insights-center/viewpoints/2236/2024-09-11-_024-pre-election-analysis-infrastructure
She talked about raising the top tax rate to 39.6% and introduce a unrealized gains tax on people who have more than 100 million in unrealized gains in the stock market, as well as an increase in the core capital gains tax (while not a "millionaires tax" it's definitely something more likely to be passed as it impacts the most rich people out there as opposed to some that might have just gotten lucky and saved enough to get a million or two dollars. Could be better but still to say she didn't support taxing the rich is BS.). Here's a thing breaking down all her tax policies https://apps.urban.org/features/2024-candidates-tax-policy/
She literally was in the administration that was using the power of medicare to negotiate prices for 10 prescription drugs to be lower. And always framed it as "the first 10" instead of the only 10. Here's here literally statement last august with that same phrasing: https://bidenwhitehouse.archives.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2024/08/15/statement-from-vice-president-kamala-harris-on-lower-prescription-drug-prices/
Here's an article about how the DNC platform, and thus Harris' platform, would have pushed for a lot of new investments in public education (including universal Pre-K and being against "school choice" BS) which would have required increased federal funding: https://www.edweek.org/policy-politics/where-does-kamala-harris-stand-on-education-inside-the-2024-democratic-platform/2024/08
The Biden Administration that she was apart of was incredibly pro-union and implemented multiple rules in the federal government that made it easier to join a union and there was no reason to think she would be any different especially since she openly talked about how important unions are and was the only candidate to be pro the dock worker strike: https://www.politico.com/news/2024/10/02/harris-striking-dockworkers-trump-00182203
Now, If I can count correctly, her supporting 6 is a lot more than "not a single one of those things" and is also a majority of the 9 that were listed.
Damn too bad none of that reached people.
She should have campaigned on that
Win them back? Fuck that, send them to the gallows. Traitors.
This is worth a read, tbh
I think the DNC strategy of letting the Overton window lead them by the nose is deeply fucking stupid too, but working on deprogramming the maga cultists is frankly unrelated to the Democratic Party - and in fact, the process would likely be helped by doing one’s best to leave political parties largely out of the discussion altogether.
I think the DNC strategy
The old strategy of the old DNC...
Which has nothing to do with the current strategy of the current DNC.
the process would likely be helped by doing one’s best to leave political parties largely out of the discussion altogether.
There is a giant propaganda push right now to convince dem voters to ignore the Dems party, especially it's primaries.
Because the billionaires who own American media no longer control the DNC
Please don't fall for it.
Well, it's too late. They needed to be not stupid during the last election. Now, Trump will likely just continue his reign of destruction, ignoring opposition, constitution and courts.
