That'll teach him to... checks notes turn off his headlights in between rain downpours... such a wanton criminal.

Wait, he's a dumpling thief??? What is the world coming to?
ACAB
Well, why was he black?
He was clearly guilty of a DWB.
Once they're done rounding up all the brown people, I'm guessing black is next.
and the final list, is probably jewish people, it almost ends up being them in the end.
Talk about a bunch of dudes with fragile egos getting their feelings hurt because the man has the gaul to question their authority and demand their supervisor. That's such limp dick behavior and is a fucking disgrace. Even if the cops were in the right for pulling him over (not having your headlights on? Really?) that's just ridiculous.
Headlights off at 4pm on an overcast day. Not raining, not even misty. Just overcast.
People saying the victim deserved it because her didn't act like a "perfect victim" are soft between the ears
You can clearly see in the video that visibility was not that bad. The video was shot from most likely a screen side camera and not the main camera so it's not like there was a ton it could do to upscale the quality. Even the cops perspective it was mid day at best and shows they were fishing for sure.
As for folks arguing against this it's just apologists grasping at straws to justify why this man was pulled over on flimsy at best reasons. It started simply so a cop (and then multiple cops) could stroke their authority egos.
Even if the initial cop that pulled him over was coming from a legit placed of concern he clearly couldn't keep his boy with the wild fists under control so he's just as culpable. Not one of those officers reacted to officer fisticuffs and that's simply not okay.
Some folks can't seem to grasp the concept that shitty or incompetent people can wind up in a place of authority and that these officers can't be placed upon a pedestal simply due to their position. Actions speak louder than words. Period.
It’s also in the middle of summer too rn when the sun doesn’t set until 9pm.
This happened in February, but it is clearly still light out. Cop said they should be on because of the weather anyways (that he must’ve been imagining), not because it was dark.
Well, they're racists
Gall*, Gaul would be the region of Western Europe conquered by Rome (to put it simply).
I'm sorry, I just used to type it like this too. Carry on.
I was half drunk when I typed that, but even sober me didn't notice the difference. I legit appreciate this and that fact you didn't belittle me means you came from a place of education and I respect the hell out of that.
The sheriff said the cellphone camera footage from inside the car “does not comprehensively capture the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
Bullshit.
As always, ACAB.
And they punch like a removed.
Lol.
Guy was calm as could be and removedcop suckers him for absolutely no reason.
Guy took it like it was a kiss from removedcops' mom.
Dude handled it like an absolute champ, but the sad thing is, he knows being black it's his only option. You saw how they treated him for absolutely nothing, now imagine how much they would've escalated had he done a single damn thing more ...
Almost like they wanted him to make any kind of move so they could escalate it...
Lottery ticket and I hope he wins. Then again, it's in the Deregulated Nazi run Florida Oblast.
Cameras “can only capture what can be seen and heard,” the sheriff added.
Don't believe your lying eyes.
How does having your headlights off on a cloudy day justify forcing a motorist out of their vehicle?
“Part of that stems from the distance and perspective of the recording cell phone camera,” the sheriff said in a statement, adding that the video did not capture events that occurred before officers decided to arrest McNeil.
Yeah, because they were still in their car when they decided to arrest him for no reason.
Prior events shouldn't matter. There's zero cause to punch a suspect that isn't an immediate threat.
Cops casually assaulting people for no real reason has become the norm. 30 years ago that would have been a crime.
30 years ago...? 30 years ago they wouldn't have been on camera doing it, you'd just never know it happened.
Boy do I have some ~~good~~ terrible news for you...

It's getting better but it's still horrible, we need to reform policing as a whole in this country (USA).
It's still a crime. Americans just don't care if cops commit crimes. If they did, they would do something about it.
I havent tested it out, but I feel like we'd lose in court trying to call any cop assaults a crime. They have qualified immunity-- thats usually just complete immunity.
Lohdear. "In court"? 😅
Jesus, you guys really are well and truly fucked.
30 years ago it would have happened more frequently and simply wouldn’t have been reported on. The BIPOC community has known for generations that cops are oppressors who use violence as their primary form of communication. The advent of phone cameras has simply allowed it to be recorded and broadcast often enough to enter white peoples’ zeitgeist.
This is nothing new, and 30 years ago nothing would have been done about it. Hell, 60-70 years ago, the cops would have been joined by an angry mob, and the dude would have been lynched just because the crowd wanted some entertainment. The 1950s and ‘60s weren’t that long ago. Trump’s entire generation was born and raised when segregation was still the norm, and Jim Crowism was expected.
Ehhh… kinda…. Maybe. Depends on if they’re white or not…
They try to claim he reached for a knife on the floor, the video is pretty clear in the fact that he is no threat and isn't reaching for anything from before the window is broken till after he is dragged out.
Given that nobody even spotted the knife until they had already arrested him and removed him from the scene... I'm pretty sure the knife wasn't there until after the arrest.
