Can't tell because I can't read reddit. Because I use a VPN

Old Reddit and some exits work.

Old Reddit is consistently blocking my VPS at least. Before Youtube started the recent IP-flagging BS, it was the only site that outright denied me access from this datacenter.

If you log in it lets you read with a vpn

But then they can track me. The whole point of using a VPN and these obfuscation browser plugins is to prevent being tracked.

AFAIK, VPNs are illegal in China. Maybe has something to do with that.

AFAIK, reddit is blocked in China, so why would they care?

AFAIK, spez is a greedy asshole. Maybe he cares?

Why would that have anything to do with reddit? They're hosted in the US and banned in China.

[–] anguo@lemmy.ca 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Maybe they're looking to undo that second part to tap that sweet sweet market.

Seems like long odds, but doesn't Tencent own a good chunk of their stock?
