My baby celebrating her first birthday. Soon she will be able to start walking and eat normal food, so it will be much less effort to take care of her.

When they start hitting the toddler stage, shit gets even more real.

I wish you the best of health and happiness for your family

This is my second baby, the first one is three years old. So in my experience it's much more fun once the child can go to the playground, starts to talk and gradually learns to do things independently. Though there are also difficulties, and of course every child is different.

Yeah, that's my theory. I'm currently a first time parent to a 1 y 9m.

Send help.

My baby being born. (S)he is due in September. Can’t wait

I might be going to a mini Burning Man style event in May. Never been to a burn, or even a music festival, before.

It promises to be an interesting experience, one way or another. If nothing else, I like the idea of partying with a bunch of artsy weirdos off their tits for several days. We'll see if I've aged out of that, lol.

That and, should I choose to prepare all of the necessary materials to pack in and out, I could do a temporary version of a dream I've had: hash and coffee club tent! 'Cause gifting cannabis products to adults is 100% legal here now (not that this would've been a barrier anyway, but still)!

My wife and I are finally in a place where we're financially comfortable enough to book tickets to things. So we're seeing Alanis Morissette in Cardiff in July, then we're off to the Royal Albert Hall in September for a performance of Holst's Planets.

These aren't big things by any means, but her mobility isn't great and our income hasn't been amazing, so it's nice to have something on the calendar that isn't a reminder of a bill that needs paying.

December 31st

All the fantasy characters that my little niece comes up with. There's Ella, for example, who runs a dinosaur zoo, or Bruno, the cloud architect (he's not an IT guy).

I have about a bunch of plants that should fruit for the first time this year.

Currently slightly motivated to get a microcontroller toolchain working and do a deep dive. Maybe a cat toy, or maybe something else. If I can find a FOSS IDE setup I can tolerate, maybe more.

I plan on recovering an ounce of gold from a creek I stumbled upon purposely

I saw a shiny penny on the street today. I think that's the realistic version.

In Australia that's roughly $1100

I've already pulled 7 grams from a very small section of crevices over roughly a 6 hour period

Man, I wish I could be as upbeat about this year as you. I like your energy, even if you seem to be hellbent on proselytizing prospecting.

It's keeping me sane. If I stop moving I may just lose my shit
