Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --

-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today/ . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--

-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--

-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --

-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --

If Yemen, with limited resources and without even having an unified country can do this, imagine what can the other arab countries achieve?

Glory to Yemen

Honestly thats a big part of this i think people aren't considering enough. Yemen is basically showing that even a small nation being bombed like they are can still inflict massive damage to the Americans, and their empire, which includes the zionist entity. As time goes on the other nations that have disagreements with the empire will have less and less reason to fear them.

Yes, but with the support of a large regional military power/state actor with advanced military technology that they are prepared to let you use and locally manufacture (in Iran), and being able to accept the consequences of carrying out military action (over 1000 airstikes since March 15). Most small nations don't have that.

Not really my point. My post wasnt so much about Yemens capabilities (which people seem to be reading it as) as the effect on perception of the American Empire. Its showing that America is vulnerable was my point. The empire must appear untouchable because once its seen to bleed others will realise it can be killed.

Thing is the other nations are filled with treatlerites. European nations and the monarch pigs in Jordan and Saudi Arabia have something to lose. The people of Yemen don't have anything to lose anymore after the war, and they would gladly sacrifice what comforts they have to enact justice. Truly valiant stuff in my opinion.

This isn't the first time they've tried to do this. Brigadier General Yahya Sare'e said Israeli airports were an "unsafe area" when they first targeted them over a month ago, but back then the missiles were intercepted. It's just with the missile not being intercepted this time, and impacting around 500m away from the control tower and main terminal, they have the political capital to make a public announcement like this. The Yemeni Armed Forces have been trying to carry out an air blockade against Israel for some time, since March 22nd 2025 at least.

I covered this here

So was there a change in their capabilities, or did a lucky one get thru?

[–] peeonyou@hexbear.net 16 points 5 hours ago

sure seems that way

[–] land@lemmy.dbzer0.com 30 points 6 hours ago

Yemen is the only country with some balls

[–] Abracadaniel@hexbear.net 30 points 7 hours ago (2 children)

I have to assume DPRK would be doing this if they were that close.

[–] Xiisadaddy@lemmygrad.ml 13 points 3 hours ago

The DPRK would be doing something(and likely are even if we don't know about it) but this exactly idk. This is just what Yemen can do. The DPRK has capabilities they don't. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a cyber war going on between the DPRK and Israeli hackers as we speak for example.

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 21 points 6 hours ago

DPRK would have the question of potential nuclear escalation to consider. In their case I think their own nuclear deterrent could also act as a self-deterrent, since that's how far it could escalate.

What about BTO? Canada's answer to ELO. They've got bong-rattling bass grooves and competent drumming i hear.

[–] Damarcusart@hexbear.net 6 points 6 hours ago

I like that Wild West Hero song they do, can't remember the name.
