ok, attempting to disengage somewhat with Yemen after aggressively bombing them while doing nothing to try to get them to stop bombing israel is actually pretty funny. mostly because i'm sure those isntraelis are pissed.

“The understanding between the US and the Houthis not to attack each other is aimed at building momentum for Iran nuclear deal talks,” CNN reported, citing people familiar with the agreement. However, the agreement reportedly does not call for an end to Yemeni operations against Israel.
If this deal proves durable, then it's an unqualified win for Yemen and the Houthis. The blockade of Israel-related shipping continues, and the US will back down on its attempt to stop them.
Liberals will say this makes Trump weak and that they wouldn’t have backed down when in charge.
On the other hand the Houthis have beat Trump twice now. And Biden. And Obama. And the Saudis. And soon Israel will just give up against them when they realize fighting them is a money pit.
Definitely. Remember during his first term when that guy on CNN or whatever was drooling over the missiles being fired at Syria, saying that was when he became a real president?
*MSNBC, Brian Williams specifically: https://www.businessinsider.nl/brian-williams-beautiful-missile-launch-syria-2017-4?international=true&r=US
That was Anderson Cooper drooling on live TV over Trump ordering the USAF to drop a ~20,000 pound "MOAB" bomb on a tunnel complex in Afghanistan.

Marching on the US flag is fucking badass lmao
The thing that is driving me crazy is that right wing media and Trump's administration are saying that Ansarallah are the ones who surrendered. However, Ansarallah only agreed to stop attacking the US military. Ansarallah said that they are not stopping attacks on Israel or lifting their naval blockade on Israel.
What I wonder is how the US military will respond if Ansarallah again attacks a commercial ship bound for Israel. Is the US saying that it will no longer protect commercial ships? Or is Trump setting up a trick scenario where the US will reopen attacks on Yemen when Ansarallah continues their blockade on Israel?

This sounds like what they're planning, so they can paint Ansarallah as unreasonable removeds
I think it's more likely that this is what it says on the tin. We know that the US was losing extremely expensive equipment for very little payoff. They're cutting their losses.

I had exactly the same question, especially if the cargo ship will be flying US flag or carry US owned load.
houthis opposing Israel for their genocide
Trump: okay im gonna fight the houthis!
...
Damn those houthis got hands!
