It's worth noting the shitty government has legislation in play that will overturn this, basically that says if your contract says you're a contractor not an employee then you are. Which is a terrible future for all low wage workers (including Uber drivers) who are about to be screwed over.

If something is bad or harmful, it doesn't matter whether getting rid of it will destroy the industry.

We have gig drivers here, like a regional Uber setup. Drivers skim 70% off the top and pay the rest into the company. It's breaking even, and drivers are making double Uber money.

I have no sympathy for Uber as I see this competitor winning drivers and rides by just not being dinks.

I worked a few door dash shifts for about a week and earned $48, I work at a bar as a dishwasher now and make $18 an hour. If dishwashers are getting better compensation then delivery drivers, they need a union
