Nobody asked me about that. I've been contributing to projects for the past year more than ever. Gave up on my job in order to open a business, plenty of free time and I'm just grinding contributions, from gaming projects such as WoW emulators, to time trackers, network nodes, IDE plugins and libraries which needed small fixes.

Actually, ever since LLMs, pumping code for free is way way way more easier nowadays.
