I guess if your priority is a cloud service that’s not American, Proton is the choice.

I feel like they are becoming just another OneDrive/iCloud/Google Drive. It’s still a lot trust in one company.

I am happy to trust one company, just not them.

Removing the US from the equation is the goal though.

Having this suite together as a single service is what I want though, I wouldn't get involved with an email service that didn't have a document and calendar service unless there was a plug in available for a third party service

My un-americanizing of services started a couple of years ago, mainly because I feel like so much power should not be handed to only a few US corporations.

I am currently using a de-appled iphone.Everything apple related is disabled on it, and am exclusive using services like: Filen.io for offside backups ans the rest are self hosted: Immich, Baikal, proxies, vpn, etc. 

Proton is slowly becoming another European Google/Apple on software side.
