No it isn't. It's European but they are shitty. I cross posted it from reddit. Consider Deezer instead.

Ecosia uses both Google and Bing for their results. It's not an actual search engine, just a proxy. They also use OpenAI for their chatbot.

Personally I don't like the fact that Vivaldi is not open source. Yes it's European but I don't want to go back to proprietary browsers.

Another European messenger app is the Switzerland based Threema.

Right. But it's a paid one and many people aren't willing to pay for a messenger, unfortunately.
