All dictatorships go after science and education. People who think are their enemies. Keeping the populace dumb is how dictators stay in power. So much so that you can almost tell how much a country has turned authoritatian by how many thinking people leave it.
There should be an agency that works to get you out of the country. You pay a fee and they find the best country for you, and get you there.
They do exist, at least for some countries. They help with visas, bank accounts, bureaucratic things like tax IDs and such, and finding a place to stay. Of course, some places are easier to move to that others.
