Sometimes my rogue goes off on her own for stupid reasons. This time it was because of a stupid mistake. But we survived so it's fine! :D

Every mimic encounter I've ever been involved in went something like this:

Party: That's a mimic, let's surround it and beat it to death.

Also, this is a good way to either run out of arrows or get your DM to insist you start counting them.

I did check! It went something like: Me: Before I go further into this room, I'm backing up to the wall and shooting everything to see if any of it bleeds. Party: You sure you're not going to get eaten by the wall? Me: ...well if the wall is a mimic I'm already dead.
