Well, both, but more the mother's for that specific incident.

The mother didn't put the symbol on the telephone pole, it was the work of the grandmother's cult. The mother is not to blame for sending the kid with the brother to the party or what happened there, it was all orchestrated by the cult.
I am not sure I agree, but I will watch it again.
Lots of easy to miss stuff in that movie, when you watch again look for all the cult details, it's wild. Definitely all orchestrated by the cult though, the family are helpless victims of the cult. Makes it all even more tragic.
That's wild. I think I've seen it three times now and I've definitely missed stuff. Thanks for sharing. I wish we had a bigger horror community here on the fediverse.

Same. I haven't watched the maybe 30 minute one revisiting midsommer. I think it's sort of a "things that were missed in the original". But don't quote me on that.
