It’s ironic to celebrate Memorial Day in a country that hasn’t had a leader who can remember stuff in almost a decade.
I celebrate the fact that I had too much a sense of self-reflection to enlist. I also celebrate the fact that many of my ideological enemies are KIA or traumatized by the unnecessary carnage they cause in the name of selfish imperialism, & get exactly what they deserve. Most people in the military just want to shoot the brown kids they couldn't shoot in their neighborhoods as children, only realizing the weight of murder when it's too late to reconsider.
