I browse All, but blocked all the news and politics on my main account. I check every few days on an alt.

I avoid news and political communities so I don't really know that the crowd is about over there. People on !patientgamers@sh.itjust.works and !gardening@lemmy.world are usually nice

The main issue with this kind of posts is that it might prevent non-assholes potential new joiners to give the platform a try

To disable it, on new Reddit, click the bell to open inbox and then "Mark all as read". Click the cog to go to notification settings and disable all or send to inbox. Go to community notifications to disable subreddit notifications.

I got frustrated with the friction for users from direct links to all the different instances they don't have accounts for and built https://lemsha.re/

It's inspired by matrix.to - but built for Lemmy content.

If a user clicks a lemsha.re link the user will be presented with two options:

  • visit the original link, or
  • view the same content - but on their preferred instance
