I had the same realization after posting, but left it as is cuz it's still not the AI driving the push for efficiency, it's the bullshit firings. AI is being used as a scapegoat - it's the malicious management that's culpable.
Murican here. We aren't even our own ally. Any country that considers us an ally is looking through rose-tinted goggles at what we could be, and clinging to that fantasy while ignoring what we are.
We need to get our shit together and actually keep it that way for at least a few decades before I'd expect any measure of trust from the global community.
Until then, yeah I wouldn't sign any agreements with the US that extend past a presidential administration cuz as soon as a relatively good one leaves, we're liable to put another hue-shifted Hitler in power.
In the US you can look up people's voter registration and see which party they're registered with. Not sure if this is every state or just some, but it's at least been the case in all the sates I've lived in. I've never seen one that actually displays your ballot selections though, just the registration status, but that could be a thing if there's a state that allows it.
South Korea’s president urged to play Call of Duty as war wake-up call
CoD? Ladies and gentlemen we've got bigger fish to fry! I urgently request that you play Halo CE, Halo 2, and Halo 3. We are wasting valuable time to prepare for the Covenant invasion, and worse, popcorn zombies!!
* unfortunately the franchise abruptly ceases after the third installment, so don't bother seeking additional warning material.
