if someone nefarious gets to the point they can read this stuff then they’ll already be able to record your screen, log keystrokes, etc.

The point is, that with Recall, they can do this back in time. A regular keylogger can only see what you do after he was installed. If you realize that your computer was compromised fast enough, then you can react. With Recall, everything you did in the last months is open to the attacker.

GDPR regulation mandates that there is at least informed consent. So MS has to ask users if they want all their data to be uploaded. This includes of course a disable option. But knowing big tech companies, they'll find a way to make users press that Okay button.

Sticking asterisks in the middle of words for reasons is galling and frankly, dumb.

It's not dumb exactly because words have powers.

Buy it later, if possible. Companies abroad are well aware that costumers won't buy their products while tariffs are in place. But it's very likely that those tarrifs will end or be massively reduced after some weeks or months. Buy it then and those companies can sell those products to you just like nothing happened. They can wait some time, it doesn't really matter to them when you buy it.

The same goes off course for buying before the tarrifs take effect. Like apple fans are right now emptying the iPhone shelfs, before the tarrifs hit the component imports from China.

Of course that only works with certain products, that you can actually afford to wait for.

I think you made a good point that highlights the change of anarchist ideas over time. I dint think many modern anarchists would be fine with this model nowadays. But anarchists back then came from a time where monarchists still ruled and even the idea of democracy and equality was kind of radical. So they had probably different ideas of authority and freedom.

In the anarchist brigades in the Spanish Civil War soldiers elected their officers democratically. In combat they still had ultimate command authority but afterwards soldiers could replace then if they where disappointed in their decisions.

If you actually wanna guilt this

Being a moralizing prick

All OP did was stating a simple fact. If you feel the need to outrage over science, then the problem is certainly not OP.

The bitter thing is: we could just implement the "Everyone does X" button. By creating according laws. But that doesn't happen either. Because suddenly "I would do it, if everyone else did it too" turns out to be just an excuse.

Es ist an Dreistigkeit echt nicht zu überbieten. Ein verurteilter Umweltverpester als Landwirtschaftsminister.

Tbf, that's the upside of a major corporation like Coca Cola. They only transport the syrup and fill the bottles at local factories.
