The conference was held from July 1 to 22, 1944. Agreements were signed that, after legislative ratification by member governments, established the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD, later part of the World Bank group) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). This led to what was called the Bretton Woods system for international commercial and financial relations.

Tiny boulders do not exist. you have obviously never seen a large boulder the size of a small boulder

This would be better for the DeGoogle community, I don't believe any of these are terribly privacy friendly.

BBC's iPlayer is only available in the U.K. (or with VPN) and has a lot of tracking. Just one example.

That's one hell of a read

They only do in certain cases, it's called Extraterritorial Jurisdiction. Note that the U.S. is not the only country that recognizes Extraterritorial Jurisdiction.

Wikipedia entry here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extraterritorial_jurisdiction

Interesting law blog post (dealing mostly with RICO issues, organized crime) here https://fmamlaw.com/when-can-the-u-s-government-prosecute-someone-for-acts-abroad/

It's not a Signal problem, this is just bad journalism.

Signal also did an update one month ago to help mitigate phishing https://www.wired.com/story/russia-signal-qr-code-phishing-attack/

To be clear though, phishing was Not the problem in this case. Incompetence was the problem.

Yes, a search for 'GPS jamming Baltic' turns up hits from everything from DW to the Financial Times.

It's a problem for maritime and aviation navigation, and a problem for both sides in the war in Ukraine. Some drones are now using fiber optic tethers to get around the jamming, that's not much of an option for civilian traffic though.

It's the same as GPS (American) or Glonass (Russian). Satellite based positioning, which is vulnerable to jamming. It could also be turned off, just like the others, hence the need for an alternative.

Midori Web Browser (sh.itjust.works)

This is a Firefox fork from a Spanish group.

Pros

  • privacy focused
  • default search is their own Searx instance
  • default integrated Oblivious http (toggle off)
  • uses Next.dns (cannot be changed though, and I can't find documentation of the implementation)

Cons

  • updates can be irregular
  • they seem a bit opaque as to funding
  • no about:config, if it's not in the settings you ain't getting it.
  • may use Google Safebrowsing directly (instead of the Firefox version), it's very hard to tell
  • the website is fucking garbage, stock photos/images on a lot of it, many links go to the same place

Other

Seems to be a middle ground between Firefox and Ironfox on Android. I use it occasionally when it is up to date just to spread my browsing around. Obtanium reminded me today that there was an update.

Are you growing your own? At least for the greens? They go with everything.

Garlic is self sterile in most cases like Saffron, you grow Garlic from garlic (like most Alliums, many Alliums are not sterile, but still grown from clones). In almost any climate you can grow it. These peeps are trying to revive the wild form. https://hoodrivergarlic.com/

If you have a windowsill and a pot, really just a bit of dirt, delicious garlic can be yours at home.

If you grow just for greens take your smallest cloves, not worth peeling, and stick them in the dirt. If you are growing for bulbs use the most flavorful and disease resistant.

Like Saffron, plant it randomly for future generations , and let it spread, it is not invasive.

Edit: tomorrow is Fajitas night, so some of these will die for the cause. Please pour one out for my dead homies.
