TBF, just leaving YouTube would be better. There's plenty of information out there which don't need some glorified video hosting platform (books, blogs, wikis and so oh). I really struggle trying to understand people's addiction to YT...

One data point isn't statistically significant.
I'm no Betterbird. For mail it's just fine. OTOH, I find the calendar a bit annoying, as doesn't allow to set email reminders when creating new event in a caldav calendary.
I think OP refers at "blasting it so everybody around is forced to listen to it". I do the same with prog/death metal, to isolate from... people in general.
You can't be serious. They are the sonic equivalent of stabbing your own eyes with a rusty screwdriver. And the lyrics are... cringe.
And they are systematically downvoted to hell.
People here loves to downvote for every little shit they disagree with... And they say Reddit is toxic... Anyway, I don't care. I just disable "show score" in settings and let the kids play.
Back to the topic, I don't use youtube at all, I don't like watching videos. I think Kagi is a great idea, but honestly 10 €/month is a lot of money for me at the moment, so I'm just self-hosting SearXNG and call it a day.
Because according to their perception "search" has less value than "watch", which may make sense if one seldom really uses a search engine (i.e., they just use the same 3-4 websites).
To each their own, I guess. I prefer written stuff.
