Was the same for me too. I remember getting DoW2 and being so disappointed. Then 3 came along… I’ve given up them making a decent game again.

Even that DoW remaster isn’t looking good. I’m holding out until I see the reviews but if they’re only going with AI upscaled textures for £30 then no thanks.

Same. I don’t even recall setting it up until I stumbled on it one day and could track my wife. I pulled a few pranks until I revealed my hand but we’ve never turned it off. There’s nothing malicious about it and we’re both happy to keep it on.

Just to clarify, this doesn’t mean that the game is now DRM free. They just replaced it with Enigma. I’m not up to date with what Enigma does differently but it might be important to some.

Yeah, if you pirate and whatever... fair enough. Don't expect Nintendo to want to deal with you. But at least you know that is the risk you're taking.

The other group of people this will impact are those who dump (legally) their own games so that they don't have to swap out carts all the time. It's also going to suck for those who pick up a second hand console to find that their online access is restricted. I don't see an issue with Nintendo blacklisting a device from their services should it go against their ToS, but this just seems way too easy of a trap to walk into.

🤦‍♂️ How did I miss that…

I migrated away from Windows to Cachy OS earlier this year and I’ve never been happier. Linux still isn’t perfect for gaming but it’s night and day compared to the last time I tried like 10 years ago.

To be in this position the car has already ignored several warning signs and presumably maintained a speed that doesn’t allow it to break in time. So 1) Don’t let the car be in a position to have to make this choice in the first place. 2) Say fuck it, speed up and send that old lady flying. May as well give her the exit of her lifetime in the painless way possible…

For the short term I see the Switch 2 as just a better Switch. The games I couldn’t play due to frame rate are now playable (a very much throw money at the problem solution). But otherwise I agree, the Switch 2 library is pretty thin and it’s not worth the money currently. There’s only so much Mario Kart one can play and everything else is cross platform at a premium price.

Like Cyberpunk is cool but I already have it on Steam. And I certainly don’t fancy paying the switch 2 tax for the new Rune Factory and Fantasy Life. Fantasy Life literally has a “because we can” fee lol. It’s £2.50 to upgrade to the S2 edition ffs!

I came back to this game after putting it down for over a month and my surprise when it said there was an update available right as I did. Sadly I still need to get to what, chapter 9, for the dlc to begin? But there’s some additional quality of life improvements that are welcome to see.

CachyOS! I was on Mint before this and had a bunch of issues running games. I think this was in part from going from NVIDIA to AMD (9070 XT).

Decided I had enough and instead of doing a simple Mint reinstall, I gave Cachy a go. I’ve had a little issue here and there but the experience has been beautifully smooth compared to Mint. It’s now set up better than I had it before and I’m over the moon with it haha.
