Finished Chapter 5 of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition. I was shocked when that happened! Had many different theories going on in my head, but they explained it soon afterwards.

I maxed affinity level of Elma, and watched all her Heart-to-hearts. Lin and Irina are almost max level, but need a dog to watch their Heart-to-Hearts, which will get to max level.

Did pretty much all the affinity missions that were level appropriate and I met the requirements for. Was going to start Chapter 6, but turns out I need to atleast 20% survey level of Noctilum, but I am only at 5%, as I was spending most of my time in Primordia and Oblivia. Haven't even stepped foot in Cauldros and Sylvalum.

Am I playing it wrong? Should I explore more? I try to explore but there are high level monsters everywhere and then I die, and think maybe I am not supposed to go there yet. Going to explore Noctilum now, so that I can start Chapter 6.

Dropped Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Started the game, and I just didn't feel like playing. So decided to drop it.

Looked at games in my backlog and decided to start The Surge. Have been itching for a souls like for a while now. Was waiting for Dark Souls Remastered to go on sale, but since it wasn't on sale atm, went with The Surge.

I am at 2nd level / stage, the game feels nice. Not at the level of FromSoft ofcourse, but in no way a bad game. Died a few times in general, lots of time at the first boss, but eventually got (a little) gud and beat it. Now kind of stuck at a place, which seems optional, but there seems to be treasure there so want to get it. After dying a dozen times, couldn't take it any more and switched to another game.

Started Subnautica. I haven't played any real survival game, and have been meaning to try some for quite some time. This felt like a good time to start one. Took some time to understand the basics, and am finally at the point where I don't have to worry too much about the food and water. Well, a little bit about the water, but not about food.

I am ready to start my first base. Planning to make it below my life-boat thingy. I am still not sure if the game has any goal, or if it's just a sandbox where you survive as long as possible. I don't like open-ended games too much, so not sure how long I'll play it. Currently unlocking new stuff regularly so no issue right now. Let's wait and see.

Well, that's about me, what about all of you? What have you been playing and/or plan to play?

The kingdom of Renais lies shattered by a sudden invasion! Use cunning strategy to guide the royal heirs Eirika and Ephraim on their twin quest to rebuild Renais. Take advantage of your strengths and exploit your enemy's weaknesses, but be careful: if a soldier perishes on the battlefield, they're gone forever!

In a world of dragons and magic, you must always be ready for battle. Take advantage of the terrain and the weapon in your hand, and attack enemies either from afar using magic or up close with your sword. Each weapon has its own strength and weakness, so choose wisely when attacking your opponent, because you don't want to be caught off guard.

Build the perfect army. Do you want a pegasus rider or a wyvern rider? An assassin or a rogue? Upgrade your troops to different classes, each with their own skills and weapons, and save the land from the forces of darkness!

I've been recently thinking about a bunch of titles that didn't see the light of day in the Nintendo Switch yet. These include mostly classics that are not retro, nor bleeding edge, but I'm sure would make a great comeback in the Switch, if given the chance.

  • Call of Duty

Microsoft did commit to bringing Call of Duty to Nintendo platforms after their acquisition of Activision, so chances are decent that something will finally land. But whether it's a new entry or a remaster of classics like World at War or Modern Warfare 2 (the OG, not the reboot), that's still up in the air. Those two in particular would be perfect for handheld sessions or docked TV multiplayer.

  • Konami Classics

Konami's relationship with Nintendo goes way back, yet they've been weirdly absent on the Switch, outside of collections like Castlevania Anniversary Collection and Contra. But no Gradius V, no ReBirth series ports, no 3D Castlevania. I'd be very interested in a Switch version of Castlevania: Lament of Innocence and Castlevania: Curse of Darkness, both previously released for the PS2.

  • "Ultra" versions of Street Fighter Alpha and Darkstalkers

Ultra Street Fighter II was a pleasant surprise when the Switch launched: it's wild Capcom didn't continue that trend. An "Ultra Street Fighter Alpha" with extra characters and sharp sprite work would be a dream come true. Imagine Alpha 2 Gold as the base! Darkstalkers is also criminally underused, and the Switch would be perfect for an upgraded version.

  • More Resident Evil, not "Cloud" versions

Cloud versions = ticking time bombs. Even if they look good, they break the promise of physical/ownership longevity. What we really need are ports like Resident Evil 2 Remake, RE3, or even RE7 that are actually optimized for Switch 1 and/or Switch 2, even if it means graphical downgrades. The Switch already handles RE4, RE5, RE6, Revelations 1 & 2, and Zero just fine, so it's not far-fetched.

  • Mario 3D All-Stars

Mario 3D All-Stars being pulled from digital shelves felt very anti-Nintendo, even though it's 100% Nintendo behavior. They created fake scarcity, then made it vanish.

I could keep going on forever, as I'd be also keen on seeing some other classics such as Namco's Soul Calibur and Tekken titles coming to the Switch. But I think I made my point already and I can only hope these big studios would eventually realize they're missing some big opportunities there.

Konami has finally listened to our prayers: https://www.dekudeals.com/items/gradius-origins

As happy as I am to see this finally coming, I'd still love to see Gradius V being ported to the Switch.

Just 'cause it was too ridiculous-looking to be real, except it is real. FT tanks were surprisingly small.

Finished Chapter 4 of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition. The main story is very interesting, very excited to see how the story develops.

Now doing the affinity missions. All the ones I meet requirement and recommended level for. I would have been much further but I got stuck on a quest, umm... Repair something, Lin's affinity quest. It required White cosemite or something, and I had no FN that was generating it, so took me a while to get all 5 of those. I am still not sure which probes to place where, currently I am going with the stats of FN, if production is high, I go with mineral, and if revenue is high, go with research, but pretty much every FN in primodia has lower revenue stat than production one.

Also not too sure about AMs, I have been investing miriam in it, since I never have enough items to develop any new equipment. And since equipment changes soon enough I am not sure if it's worth spending on upgrading them. So keep investing so that I don't hit the limit (which I have increased twice by using Storage probes. Any suggestions?

And can I sell all the low level stuff I have? Or is it useful somewhere? Always think about looking it up then forget.

Oh, and I love the sound tracks! Someone poke Nintendo to add all Xenoblade tracks in their Nintendo Music app.

Started Dragon Age: The Veilguard last weekend, and just didn't feel like playing it. Chances are I may delete it if I feel the same this weekend.

So, downloaded TOEM and finished that. Got the Platinum and completed the free DLC too. A very nice, cozy game. You go from level to level helping different people by taking pictures or doing some small tasks. Each level is small and divide in diaorama-ish looking screens. (I am not great at explaining things, am I?)

Art style is monochrome-ish, but very clean. Music and sound effects are also very nice.

Highly recommended for cozy game fans.

Well, that's about me, what about all of you? What have you been playing and/or plan to play?

PSA there's a big sale on the eshop until April 27. Quite a few first-party titles with a 33% discount and others with bigger discounts. I picked up Portal 1 & 2 for about £3, it really is good.

I also discovered https://www.dekudeals.com/ recently - it tracks prices over time so you can see how good the current discount is and physical/digital from different retailers.
