I could also see push notifications about adding bleach tablets or whatever to it periodically if that's your thing. I have a smart fridge (probably the dumbest smart fridge you can get feature wise, doesn't do much). I can check and adjust the temperature from my phone and get filter replacement reminders. It can send push notifications if the door isn't shut which would be more useful if I had kids. Just because you don't think you'd have uses for it doesn't mean it can't be useful.

Again, with the huge caveat that the toilet be capable of manually flushing.

I mean, it could be. Imagine getting a push notification when it overflows. The lowest pipe in my house is a toilet. Luckily my wife was nearby but it could've gone worse if we didn't see for a bit.

I mean, obviously a manual handle would be a requirement, but I could possibly see it? Like the idea of an app controlled bidet is not that far fetched because they have a lot of buttons and settings (obviously I want physical buttons too).

How often has that happened to you?

[–] JackbyDev@programming.dev 2 points 1 day ago (3 children)

As a noun to refer to humans?

Obviously the exclusionary group is going to exclude the people they don't like with their slogans though. Trans exclusionary radical feminists don't believe trans women are women. The "adult human female" shit across from them "defining woman" or something to that effect.

I just view it as a quirk of the language. "Guys and girls" or "guys and gals" are paired words. Guy is a casual way to refer to men, so I think people use girl as a casual way to refer to women because it's sort of the pair to guy. Lady feels too formal.

Just don't use male or female as nouns to refer to humans. That simple. If you're talking about animals it doesn't matter.

Can't help but notice you're complaining about the post but never did what the post is complaining about.

That's a good point. I've got a little 4x4 raised bed. I didn't do anything with it last year and haven't gotten around to anything this year. I'm in the south east. I was considering just dumping a bunch of sunflower seeds in. I'll try to do some research though and get something better.

Edit: turns out sunflowers are more native than I thought, but might be more Midwest.

If you can suggest native ground cover that is low maintenance and easy to start I'd consider it. I'm not going to put plugs in my yard when I can just over seed with clover. Clover is strictly better than turf grass.

I forget the term for non native, non invasive plants (naturalized?) but those are good too. Native is best, of course. I see a ton of carpenter bees (native bees to my area) on my red clover (non native, non invasive).
