Strange, he mentioned RSS in hos video so I would assume it should be there. Couldn't find it either though so it will probably be around soon. Website literally just launched so.

Its viewer funded yes. As described in the video parts of the website will be locked for paid supporters. Imo a solid thing to support these days of AI piss everywhere.

Not quite, steam now installs EasyAntiCheat for linux when you first setup steam for instance. The games you will struggle with are games such as those published by Riot, some view that as a bonus though 😅

David Heinemeier Hansson, the creator of Ruby on Rails, has tailored together his take on Hyprland combined with Arch. It looks quite neat and promising and looks like a nice entry point for those who don't want to configure hyprland themselves. DHH describes Omarchy as:

Turn a fresh Arch installation into a fully-configured, beautiful, and modern web development system based on Hyprland by running a single command. That's the one-line pitch for Omarchy (like it was for Omakub). No need to write bespoke configs for every essential tool just to get started or to be up on all the latest command-line tools. Omarchy is an opinionated take on what Linux can be at its best.

Omarchy comes in different themes, and by the looks of it this are hotswappable on the go by using the keybinds: Super + Ctrl + Shift + Space.

Man I am so grateful for this project, I was afraid it would feel polished enough after having been with Plex for the last few years. But hot damn Jellyfin is so much better and keeps on giving!

You sir are absolutely not alone about this! I mostly use Proton via the Web, and even with the Unlimited Subscription, I got ads all over Black Friday, and after about some family plan upgrades if I recall correctly. Their marketing have been off the charts, almost as bad as other VPN providers.

Although I trust Proton with my data, I really don't like some of their choices, pluss the lack of Linux support. I can see myself checking them out at a later point again, but for now I've had enough. Migrating to other services that suit me better:

  • Bitwarden
  • Mailbox
  • Mullvad / IVPN (undecided)

Out of curiosity, what service was this?

I often hear, "You should never cheap out on a good office chair, shoes, underpants, backpack etc.." but what are some items that you would feel OK to cheap out on?

This can by anything from items such as: expensive clothing brands to general groceries.

This user seems to obsessed.. All his/her previous post has been about how kbin is dying and that there now is a new fork of it. 7 days is nothing. As far as I know there are very few developers on kbin, cut them some slack will yah.

As title suggests, how do I go about stopping my phone from scanning my surroundings for extra devices?

Note: my phone was already connected to my own headphones.

That was actually quite funny 😅

Unraid running a Cyber Weekend Sale + a neat giveaway in late november! Link -> https://unraid.net/blog/cyber-weekend-giveaway

Hi there peeps,

Currently got an old B250M Performance motherboard, although it does the job im looking to upgrade to something that is AM4 compatible, already bought a wraith stealth cpu cooler for dead cheap second hand.

I'm changing from Debian to Unraid too, mainly using the server as media server, but hosting some other apps too. Only got one ssd, the rest are hdds, so multiple ssd slots are not much of interest for now at least.

Is there anything I should be looking for in a motherboard whilst browsing? Anything that would make it more future proof etc? I don't really know a whole lot about Motherboards.

Appreciate any tips 😇

I am currently expanding my Homelab setup, and want to buy a 10TB drive, for media storage. It's a Seagate Ironwolf disk, so perfect for the job. But, it's second hand. It was originally bought in 2019, but stopped being used after 2022. Only used for static storage, it's been booted less than 50 times. I can get it for 1/3 of the original price.

What do you think? Are there any rules about buying used storage I should know about before buying it?

I would really really really like to have one device on my tailnet as the exitnode for all other devices on the tailnet. However, most VPNs make this really difficult. Is there any way to do this? I've read it's possible with split-tunnelling, but ProtonVPN (which I use) doesn't support that. I just installed Alpine Linux on my RPI 4b. And would like to use this as my exit node. Does anyone have any tips for how this could be done?

Quite new to foraging, how come these mushrooms grow in a circle?

Hej hej,

I'm on the lookout for a new keyboard and mouse for my gaming and development sessions on Linux. Was therefore wondering if people here have some experience in this field in terms of recommendations. Personally quite tied to quiet keyboards, i like low-profiles but its not a must. Mainly looking for something that is well supported on Linux and keyboard. Or if anyone has any other nice to have peripherals they want to recommend then I'm all ears!

My keyboard requirements;

  • Must support Nordic ISO layout
  • Must be linear switches or at least quiet keys.
  • Must be 100% or 96% in size

Any tips or recommendations are welcome <3

Hi peeps, I've just done the transition and removed Windows and chose Garuda to be my flavor after having tried a lot of other ones first. Does anyone have any tips or must to-do's right out of the box after a fresh install?

Hey good people! 👋 So I have some heat issues with my laptop running a few games on good old laptop . My issue is that my laptop overheats very easily. It's a MSI PS63 Modern with a 1050ti graphics card. As of late I have recently wiped windows off my PC and have installed PopOS! Which I am very happy with! ✨ However, gaming makes the laptop so very warm I cannot even touch parts of the laptop. Currently trying to play Dragons Dogma Dark Arise, through Lutris. Which works and runs very well. But the heat is worrying.

The software I have tried, to customize the fans don't find my fans though scans. On windows I used a built in program to make the fans go faster.

Any tips, suggestions of what to do?

Thanks in advance 🙏
