MyRputeApp and php (lemmy.world)

We have all seen what a simple flaw can equate to and, in the case of some vulnerabilities in php coding for websites, this has been a pretty dramatic and shocking reminder of our reliance on IT systems.

It was an AI engine they spotted the vulnerability but this information was somehow leaked and the next day, bots were trying to take advantage of this issue hence systems being taken offline.

Not everyone will have taken their systems offline and not everyone manages their websites or even knows what php is and where it fits in so there will be some losers..

Personally, I was affected by MyRouteApp being down for a couple of days until the coding was patched which meant I missed a self imposed deadline to get some routes sorted.

Minor stuff and better that than personal data being sold to the highest bidder

A very important reminder to make your passwords secure and involve two part encryption if you get the opportunity to do so!

Summit but the result if pretty good.

Voyager would also have worked had I realised that I needed to create a second account with lemmy.world.

What I have ended up with is quite a nice looking application which I will simply use for this Forum (form the time being as I am sure that there are many other interesting communities to explore).

They were originally created for the Triumph Owners Club summer rally which was to be based at a local campsite along with entertainment, food and events but it never happened as COVID appeared.

I was the creator as I live locally and have ridden the routes so, in effect, it could be a week's biking holiday staying in tents or lodges.

(I have nothing to do with the campsite)

All routes will still be good and are varied to suit modern and classic (I needed this for the club) and I gave Zeem access to the document that went along with it.

Perhaps still worth sharing to members - have a look at them and see what you think.

I sort of work as a guide in a professional capacity (not looking for business as I am too busy) and develop routes so I could tidy up the documentation if it really came down to it but, everything is usable as is without me needing to do anything.

    I managed!

It appears that I needed to subscribe to Lennyworld and create a username and password then once this was accepted (email confirmation) I was in.

Once there I could easily navigate to the forum.

What I had done wrong before is assume that my username and password for bikersclubfrance was all I needed .

Now..have to find my way around this application!
