The State guaranteeing employment is still not enough, because the Keynesian systems post ww2 tried just that and began to creak and break in the 1970s leading to the neoliberal counter-reform faction winning power.

Oh totally, a welfare state cannot function within capitalism long term regardless. I kind of clumsily tried to make the point that it is at least manageable during periods of industrialization and growth, because there are jobs. Obviously under capitalism this will never happen long term.

It /should/ be easy to refute but whether or not we have the right conditions to have our ideas take hold is another thing entirely.

Most people think only of the spectrum represented in the parliament. So when they think "communists" or "leftists" they think of whatever succdem party the media is currently calling "far-left", and then nothing else. So we are already set back enormously because they keep making things worse (and moving to the right). In the minds of most people, they have to choose between eroding welfare services + higher taxes vs eroding welfare services + lower taxes, and obviously most are gonna choose the latter.

Why would workers trust you if you are actively trying to make their lives worse and take away their hard won rights and social safety nets?

I don't know, seems to work just fine for the bourgeois in the Nordics. Write a book about how you think "the welfare state = apartheid" and say that it is your life's mission to dismantle it, and you'll become prime minister with a majority government (Sweden).

To me it seems the issues of the welfare state stem from de-industrialisation and the ever so common economic crises arising from capitalism. A welfare state cannot function in capitalism unless there is also continuous job creation. It makes no sense that an ever decreasing portion of the working population needs to fund the income of others who want to work but cannot, because the jobs don't exist. The state should handout "welfare" insofar that it guarantees you a right to work. Otherwise it will just spiral as it does now in the Nordics: no jobs --> more people utilizing the social safety net --> more strain on the welfare state --> higher taxes for the workers --> etc.

Oh definitely, I hope @Malkhodr understood I don't think they're personally responsible to sift through and comment on every article they post here. That is a job for the rest of us, and we are very grateful for the continued updates!

No model-generated code is ever executed in this simulation and the model does not have any way to interact with external systems. In this isolated test environment the model under evaluation is given access to a fake bash tool which does not execute the provided code. Instead, we ask another LLM to approximate the command’s result given a description of the simulated world.

Materialism truly is dead. Now we don't even see if anything bad actually happens, wee just ask ANOTHER LLM TO APPROXIMATE what will happen. Groundbreaking science here guys, next time I'm in the lab I'll just ask Claude to approximate what my experimental results will be and publish that.

These simulations are not perfect portrayals of real-world conditions, and are therefore imperfect measures of how a model would behave in a given situation.

    You don't fucking say?

reportedly led to the brutal strike on Iran’s Minab elementary school.

I almost dislike this framing because in the head of liberals the US will only ever have comitted warcrimes due to Hegseth's incompetence. There is no reason Obama or Biden (or any other president) wouldn't bomb the Minab school for fun, just like they did wedding, hospitals, etc.

U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, claimed today that a ‘foreign actor’ was ‘clearly involved’ in the incident.

Not only is Iran controlling the oil flowing through the strait of hormuz, it is also deploying global oil retrival teams to further the contradictions in the west. They really cover all bases these Iranians.

It does not mention what type of labs. Would be interesting to know more details of what fields they are trying to target with this. "Lab" is used to mean a lot of things nowadays.
