I mean that's what happens when Harris is the vice president of the administration currently carrying out genocide in Gaza. Harris also repeated misinformation about Hamas members/ Palestinian men sexually assaulting Israelis during October 7 during the last presidential debate. How are Muslim voters supposed to trust someone like that? Someone that repeats racist and Islamophobic lies about them and their Muslim brothers and sisters in Gaza. Someone actively part of a genocidal administration. Of course Muslims do not want to vote for Harris, and the reasons are very obvious.

Unfortunately anti LGBT views are very popular in Africa and LGBT identities are often seen as a product of colonialism. Even though the reality is that homophobia based on Abrahamic religions and colonial legal codes was caused by colonisation. That's not to say that Africa was a paradise for LGBT people before colonialism, many were probably bigoted towards LGBT people just like the rest of the world, it is to say that the modern type of bigotry many have nowadays is a product of colonialism.
In news on Burkina Faso, the country is set to pass a new Code of Persons and Family, which criminalises homosexuality, only recognises religious and customary marriages, and allows for the "loss of nationality" for those that have acted against the interest of the country, whereas previously only desnaturalisation was the consequence of that. The transitional government has also been extended by five years, now that the initial two years will be over in September.
Burkina Faso junta bans homosexual unions, 11 July 2024
Burkina Faso's decision to outlaw homosexual relations is part of an overhaul of its marriage laws.
The new legislation, which still needs to be passed by the military-controlled parliament and signed off by junta leader Ibrahim Traoré, only recognises religious and customary marriages.
"Henceforth homosexuality and associated practices will be punished by the law," the justice minister was quoted by AFP news agency as saying.
No mention of the rest of the changes to the code or the plan to extend military rule by the BBC, which is interesting. This is still very bad news.
Going to pretend to be Sigmund Freud for a minute and try make sense of this:
in the annual poll conducted by IllicitEncounters, that brands itself “the best online dating site for married people”.
Okay that makes sense, Clarkson's considered the sexiest man among middle aged adulterers that still use these niche sites. He's rich, powerful (or gives off that impression) and older.
Meanwhile, Spider-Man actor Tom Holland secured the second spot in the UK's sexiest man list, which coincides with his return to the West End.
Also makes sense, middle aged adulterers looking to relive their "glory days" and get with someone that looks much younger. The opposite of Clarkson.
Forest Gump for sure. I say it every time this topic comes up.
You know synonyms exist right? And "enlargement" and "expansionism" are cleary synonyms in this context.
The background was that President Putin declared in the autumn of 2021, and actually sent a draft treaty that they wanted NATO to sign, to promise no more NATO enlargement. That was what he sent us. And was a pre-condition for not invade Ukraine. Of course we didn't sign that. The opposite happened. He wanted us to sign that promise, never to enlarge NATO.
They do according to the article and what I know
Yeah, everything to do with secularism. That's why France has Christian public holidays. And Macron called for closer ties between the state and Catholic church, and said Europe has "Judeo Christian roots". Oh wait...
Yeah exactly. What has Ukraine accomplished since the sabotaged peace talks by Boris Johnson? Is the territory gained vs Russia since then worth all the life lost, the economic cost, etc.
Thank you for calling this out. It's fucking gross how that happens. If I speak about what should happen to "sexpats", I'll be in trouble. Big big trouble.
Russia invades a neighbour who dares to attempt to have stronger ties to the west.
You mean a western led coup with assistance from neo nazis to remove the democratically elected government of Ukraine in 2014. With the explicit goal of "Latin Americanising" Eastern Europe and privatizing and selling off all their assets. The Ukrainian government still has a website up today for selling off anything not bolted down to the highest bidder. Shock doctrine 2.0.
West supplies neighbour with weapons to defend itself.
You mean forcing Ukraine to start a counter offensive using NATO combined arms tactics for witch Ukraine had neither the equipment or required training to execute. And with no will from the west to give Ukraine the required equipment (F-16 saga anyone?). How do you do a combined arms offensive without a fully functional air force? The worst part being that the west knew this, and still forced Ukraine to go ahead with the offensive anyways, knowing there was little chance of success.
Tankies on Lemmy: "oh no, Russia is being oppressed"
More like people saw this coming and think the loss of life over this attrition war is tragic. How does Ukraine win an attrition war against Russia? What is the exit plan? This is just Afganistan all over again in some ways.
There is no way this is real. I refuse to believe that someone could make up this stupid of an excuse for cheating, and I refuse to believe that someone is gullible enough to be convinced by such an excuse.
