At BEST this is misinformation.

Aaron Swartz 's legal troubles had to do with him hacking into and making available academic articles from JSTOR. He was facing 35 years in prison for this and committed suicide before trail.

And absolute embarrassment of justice.

But Aaron Swartz was never "in control" of reddit.

KDE Connect also works on Mac & Windows.

Definitely should use whatever software you're comfortable with.
