In May 2024 a smaller fishing boat operating off of Newfoundland needed assistance. Aboard was an injured fisherman that needed immediate evacuation and be brought to a hospital.

103 Sqn was tasked for this medevac.

103 is a RCAF Search and Rescue Squadron based out of Gander, Newfoundland, Canada. They fly the CH-149 (AW101) Cormorant Helicopter.

[EN] On December 30, we received an emergency call together with the lifeguards of Reddingsbrigade Monster and KNRM Hoek van Holland for a kitesurfer in trouble near the Zandmotor. The kitesurfer had already been safely brought ashore by a fellow kitesurfer. The crew of the coastal emergency vehicle took care of the kitesurfer who had now become hypothermic. The coastguard helicopter landed on the beach to drop off the medic to check the kitesurfer. The lifeguards and police helped to create a safe landing zone. The body temperature had dropped to 34 degrees. The kitesurfer was eventually transported to the waiting ambulance. In the meantime, the lifeboat George Dijkstra has recovered the kite that was still floating at sea.

Coast Guard Station Noyo River crew suited up for some bracing heavy weather training during the recent "bomb cyclone" that formed in the Pacific, Nov. 20, 2024.

During the severe weather, the station's crews endured 14-16 foot waves and 30+ knot winds to to provide training to the unit's break-in heavy weather coxswains.

A serious fire on the oil tanker “Annika” off Kühlungsborn is causing great concern.
