i did a playthrough of vanilla oblivion about 2 months ago (strange coincidence).
been watching streams of people paying/playing this new $50 remaster and i'm just.... why? OG is eons better still - caveat being you need just a few QOL mods. and it's not a, what, 120gb bloat with, imo, worse graphics (though admittedly i'm a sucker for janky oldschool 2005 graphics).
agree with what you wrote, but don't confuse the economy with the stock market. the economy has been FUCKED for awhile now. never recovered from covid / profit-maximizing inflation tbh

i like/liked the minigame, but yes absolutely it should not be the MAIN thing for dialogue/speech checks.
they should've used it for crafting gear, spells, gambling, idk just some other game system

all snobby comments about oblivion aside, the dark brotherhood questline is the best questline in the ES series. bar none.
i liked these because I could jump way way way higher than i ever could on my skateboard
just go to the park and sprint at a bench/table and grind the entire length of the thing. things were fun as all hell for awhile. this was like... god... 1997?
it got old after awhile because while doing sick ass grinds was fun as hell, that was all you could really do. went back to skateboarding pretty quick.
