I don’t know if it’s a gender thing, a location thing, or just my vibe (I’m a woman from Connecticut and I’m an autistic vegan with a septum ring who presents pretty butch), but this has happened exactly once to me. It was, unfortunately, my best friend making a mildly antisemitic joke to me and another acquaintance of mine she’d never met, at his expense. Fortunately, however, I took her aside and was able to get through to her. She was adamant that she wasn’t antisemitic, but “the joke was right there.” I explained that it’s like the “make me a sandwich” or “tits or gtfo” jokes, where in one instance, they might not be so bad, but they wear on you and make you so wary of hearing them that you start to think about your wording, and they other you over time. She understood, so well that she felt awful about it and apologized, and has occasionally mentioned the interaction several times since as a pivotal moment for her.

I think it’s just a bowl currently full of ravioli

“They have also set almost as many people on fire as the American military.”

I was not expecting that at all and now there’s coffee everywhere

I can’t imagine feeling comfortable saying something like this, especially on fucking tv

That Canadian actress was white and attractive. The German held for several days without sleep was also white and attractive (also a man in a relationship with a man, but I don’t know how likely it is that CBP could have known that).

It’s probably protective, but it’s not sufficient

I zone out and feel like I’ve been in there for hours, then I exit and it’s been eight minutes. I don’t understand why, but the shower completely removes my perception of time (normally one of my better skills). Luckily, it doesn’t go the other way.

That’s the value of charisma. I can’t not seethe while listening to Reagan shucks his way to destroying the welfare state, but he was an actor, I’ve got to assume he was good at striking the right note for people who didn’t have the consequences of his policies right at hand.

I wish charisma were less effective, but unfortunately this is the world we live in. Even worse, the only Kennedy we have on the national scene is RFK Jr.

I can understand that, but I suspect that neither calls itself The Times. In countries with a large newspaper known as a Times, The Times is called The London Times to differentiate itself

No worries either way, asking for a source is always a good idea :)

I was told by nuns in catholic school that we had more in common with Jews than with Lutherans.

There are secret police here as well

This is how long it took

They would fit together perfectly, but they can never be joined.
