How do you say r/wooosh on Lemmy?

[–] kingofras@lemmy.world 5 points 5 days ago

You’re too kind. May the stars be kind upon you.

Warned about this 11 days ago. https://lemmy.world/post/27449126

This is still a weakness of the current federation model imo

Partial credit to the millions who voted for him, millions who stayed home and the millionaire enablers who didn’t speak up and paid $1M to his inaugural committee.

I can’t stand him either, but his decline is natural, where the lack of empathy and hatred and poor judgment of the most obese nation is not.

I second this question

There’s always one. But I respect diversity so, here you go:

Here we go again. When is he going to learn to say thank you?

Don’t look down

Yep, but see what happened this week? France is a stupid country to try and get on your side from Russian perspective. They will always get drunk, revolt and then do a threesome with your women after they’re finished chopping the head off the invaders.

Same here, been watching and testing closely from day one, and the AI hate is certainly understandable, but it is a new tool in the toolbox, and once you learn how to use it correctly and understand it’s limitations (e.g. you wouldn’t use a hammer to build a 50 meter bridge span) it can provide quite a bit of leverage, which saves you time and let’s you spend more time scrolling on Lemmy and writing comments like these.

The AI hype, particularly in the financial markets is really overbought IMO, and that’s the bubble that is bursting, egged on by the tariffs and general geopolitical uncertainty. (I’ve only yesterday realised that the Climate Emergency will never be properly priced into the markets)

Anyway, just 100% agreeing: AGI let alone ASI is not happening, and most likely the destruction of our civilisation (first by war, then by natural disaster) will likely preceed it, especially if we were hoping to roll it out in a responsible and regulated manner.

I’ve been on a journey today trying to understand the fediverse better.

I’ll be mindful to not start removed about certain instances.

Here’s my example:

Is it technically possible that posts or comments still get downvote-brigaded by an instance that is technically defederated from the instance of the OP?

So let’s say instance A and B are defederated from each other, but both are federated with instance C. After a user from A posts something on C does every user from B get to downvote everything?

I’m trying to determine if the Fediverse has recourse against an r/TheDonald scenario, where one toxic element is allowed to flourish for too long and - in the case with the other site - eventually takes over and destroys everything.

If this debate has been had somewhere else, please feel free to point me there, otherwise I’d love to understand this better.

[Video] ICE arrests PhD student

Once you realise that they all think we have less than 10 years to the total collapse of civilisation, everything they do makes sense.

2011

Sports cars for the wealthy few, he built with practiced hands,

While promising the common folk would drive them 'cross the lands.

Rockets failed and workers ailed in factories unsafe, "Next year, cars will drive themselves!"

Most thought the man was great.

2013

He spoke of vacuum tubes to whisk us faster than the breeze,

An ancient notion claimed as his, investors pleased with ease.

"To Mars we'll go!" he boldly claimed, "Self-driving comes next year!"

Whistleblowers faced his wrath—still most refused to hear.

2015

Brain implants left animals in suffering and pain, Scientists fled in droves as ethics went down the drain.

Removed the lidar, cut the costs, "Self-driving comes next year!"

Stock prices manipulated, yet few expressed their fear.

2017

He claimed to found the company that predated his time,

Rewrote his history with ease, none called it quite a crime.

Cold gas thrusters, semi trucks—promises grand and wide,

"To Mars by twenty-twenty-four!" Some doubts began to rise.

2019

He called a diver "pedo guy" for saving children's lives,

The pandemic rules "fascist chains," as workers fell and died.

Wrong ventilators sent to those who needed help to breathe,

"Self-driving comes next year!"

Fewer continued to believe.

2021

A platform bought and stripped of guards that kept the hatred low,

Conspiracy and falsehoods spread like wildfire in the snow.

"Full self-driving price increase!" for technology not there,

"Mars bases coming any day!"

More people grew aware.

2023

His own child cast aside when she revealed her true self's form,

While claiming he stood firm for speech, a champion through the storm.

His AI named for racist tales, his satellites debris, "Self-driving next year, we promise!"

Most could finally see.

2025

The Government Efficiency czar dismantled from within,

A Nazi salute displayed with pride, no longer hiding sin.

His empire crumbling day by day, the tunnels just sinkholes,

"Mars colonies postponed again!" Yet some refuse to know.

The solar tiles never worked, the batteries catch fire,

The charging networks fall apart, the situation dire.

A decade spent believing lies, excuses without end,

Yet some, invested far too deep, still call the man their friend.

Good exploration of Nazi Musk’s obsession with 420, also Hitler’s birthday and the fact that it is 90 days after Trump’s inauguration and an EO that gets them to advance to the next step.

Warning: this is for hypothetical discussion, this is not a fact (yet).

Torrential rains have caused severe flash flooding in southern Spain, leading to the evacuation of 365 homes in Campanillas, near Málaga. Authorities have also shut down roads and suspended classes in eight schools across the region. Nineteen rivers remain on high alert as water levels continue to rise, threatening further damage.

Storm Laurence, which swept through the province overnight, brought nearly 100mm of rainfall and wind gusts of up to 90 km/h. The hardest-hit areas include the Guadalhorce Valley, where the Campanillas River burst its banks, flooding entire streets. Other rivers, such as the Turón and the Guadalhorce, have also overflowed, leaving parts of Cártama and Almogía submerged.

Claude Sonnet 3.7 high level summary (though I recommend the entire report)

3 Key Points: "The Crisis Report - 103"

  1. Global ocean temperatures are rapidly rising, with 2023-2025 showing unprecedented warming despite La Nina conditions, potentially leading to +2°C of global warming between 2030-2045.
  1. The report claims this level of warming could cause catastrophic global food system collapse with agricultural outputs declining 14-20% per 1°C of warming.
  1. According to the report, these conditions could lead to mass starvation primarily in the Global South, with projections of 2+ billion deaths at +2°C warming and 4+ billion at +3°C warming.
