That's an interesting suggestion. If they want it, I'm more than happy to contribute. I just don't know what they think of keeping a flag for this particular quirk of this particular Wayland-compatible server.

Maybe in Firefox 138 and earlier it'd have been easier because very few lines change. I don't have a patch for the latest Firefox though and would only work on it if I know Moizlla wants it.

    If someone tries this, tell me if it launches at all. I'm seeing one bug report in the Open Store but can't ask the user for more details so I can try to fix it. Thanks!

    Firefox running through XWayland is very choppy on my device. So I made this version that uses Wayland for rendering.

    Lomiri UI Tweaks: More Android-like UI for Ubuntu Touch (source) (gitlab.com)
     

    This is the source from my earlier post for anyone who just wants to try it. Its based off 20.04 because I don't have a 24.04 device to test it on.

    Use at your own risk but let me know if you run into any problems.

    I've tested it on my phone but removed some more hard-coded customization in the UI so I haven't used this particular version as much.

    I've put it on GitLab for now because that's where the Lomiri source is. I made a GitLab issue here but aren't sure if that's the best way to contact upstream to see if they'd want this.

    Thanks for the suggestion. I'm reusing SliderMenu from Lomiri for the sliders and there seems to be some inherent limit on how much spacing I can remove. Or I haven't been looking in the right places.

    Normally, you have to go into different tabs to toggle Wifi, Bluetooth, change volume and so on. This puts things in one place.

    Is anyone else interested in this or does an existing project already do this? It needs to make changes to Lomiri so I think that means installing through the open store wouldn't work.
