this is so true. just because one can use more advanced systems doesn't mean he's smarter than all the more "basic" system users. especially in the linux world.

all of the distros can pretty much do the same thing, some distros are just more focused on the ease of use.

for real. my uncle has been programmer his whole life and he was always the most linux guy I've known. I have never seen him use any other os. and yet he uses ubuntu. his own words are thar he doesn't care about all the bells and whistles that come trough distros like arch or gentoo. ubuntu works well enough for him and it's what he is used to, so he uses that.

using ubuntu defiently does not mean you're a noob or non-techy linux user. personally I wouldn't touch it again but the linux culture about arch being superior and others being for noobs is ridiculous

lawns are shit and they were actually a tool for colonialism. they quite literally came in fashion because rich people in europe were flexin with their wealth because they could spend their land and work force for lawn that looked pretty and contributed for nothing. they even took those same lawn species for america so keeo that same flexing going on.

I don't think that's it, I just checked out and the game only takes around 25-26% ram and it was running reasonably well with 4,5gb ram already taken. that 25gb ram sounds like someone is playing the game with 4k graphics or something. bg 3 lists only 8gb ram as mimimum requirement and 16gb is recommended

edit: I don't know if gnome takes up some grpahics card or cpu resources which affect the game performance since it's a lot bigger program than i3wm

I have no clue. I've been wondering the same thing, since I have 16gb ram so ram shouldn't be the issue

baldur's gate 3 was really unstable with gnome for me, and the fps was like half of what it's supposed to be. but with i3 I get decent fps and it's really stable! I'm not that sure about other games because I havent been paying attention to the fps but I feel the performance is generally better. no other game has shown that drastic change though :D

I have a little bit, but due to gaming I stick with Xorg. also I just use i3wm nowadays which helps me get better performance in some games
