What was different in the 1970s that helped independent films thrive?
I’m not seeing any log in required at daily beast. Maybe the OP didn’t either? Could be some sort of cookie-based limit on number of free stories.
Reader mode in the browser also appears to work.
Monica/Chandler on friends. Monica belonged with Tom Selleck.
Most movies aren’t made for the big screen anymore anyway. The studios own the streaming channels, and that’s where the money is. Marvel movies are designed to stay in the theater for a few weeks, but the rest are destined for a shorter release window so they can go straight to streaming.
She supposedly came up with the idea for the show. And she auditioned for the part under a different name. Who knows if the casting directors knew who she was anyway.

It’s hilarious if you watch it now, because they had to remove all the period music for syndication. They replaced it with some session musician music that still sounds period-accurate. Hats off to whomever wrote those tunes.
That movie was so strange. It had all the pieces for a franchise including big name stars, but it was just so bad.
Still pissed that The Terror didn’t do a season about the Dyatlov Pass incident. It would have been a good fit for this show.
If we are going to talk about shows with Geoffrey Palmer, I recommend “Butterflies” — a BBC production by Carla Lane. It’s a dramedy about a housewife with two teenage boys and a husband (Palmer), but she has a flirtation with another man. She has to make a decision about how she is going to move forward.
I hope the rest of this story gets told at some point. It would make a good graphic novel.
I’m partial to the Junior Vasquez remix of “Climb Every Mountain” myself.
Someone should buy the brand and take on Amazon.
