Ahh, not sure about sensitive surfaces.. it can be removed, with some work, solvents may help in that department. But I've only really ever used it on hard surfaces, and I think unpainted. But if that's your use case, I've not found anything stronger!

3M VHB tape sounds similar to what he's describing. Very strong bond, slightly thick so it can bond to uneven/rough surfaces. It's good stuff.

I absolutely loved the look and feel of the essential ph-1. The ceramic back felt great in the hand (the few times I dared carrying it without a case). The size was perfect for me, and I personally found the notch less distracting than the hole punch camera.

Also gives a flat surface for pots/jugs to sit on while you're filling them with water. I have them in my sinks at home and love them.
