Hi folks, title essentially. I'm using Open Razer and Polychromatic on PopOS right now for my keyboard, but I have a few other peripherals that are also RGB. A corsair cooler, my EVGA card, and my Gigabyte mobo lighting. I was wondering if there's a single pane I can organize them all with. I don't have super high expectations, but maybe there's something out there. Thanks!

Nope, not banned, chose to leave. Realized most of my anxiety and fear were due to Reddit's algorithm amping up my issues.

Was banned from a couple of subs for promoting Lemmy though.

it's not as good as I remembered, and not as bad as I feared. I thought it'd be a very mysoginistic view of a 90s home, and it kind of is, but not a crazy amount. Starts that way, Jill is a stay at home mom, 3 kids, house, dad is the provider, but the show tackles a good chunk of that. Jill wants to get her masters, wants to move out of the house. Tim has to come to terms with it. They tackle rebelling kids, differing views, idk, it's not as bad as I expected it to be.

It's not up to par with today, but I don't think it's bad either. So yeah, good filler

hoo boy, okay, let's break this down. Since you call her a girl I'm going to assume you're fairly new to this and I'm not talking to someone who is say, over 30 or something.

  1. You don't love her. You have a crush on her. Love is something that grows over time after already being in a relationship. Girls know this. If you tell her you love her, she's going to freak out. Real life ain't the movies, the movies have some romantic saying or gesture that says I love you. She's gonna run for the hills if you use the four letter word on her.

  2. If you do it in person, you have a solid minimum 50/50 shot. You do it on snapchat, that drops to maybe 10/90. No matter what you write, it's going to come off as creepy. Don't want to believe me? Fine by me, it's your life - but I've been there, and I've done that exact thing. It's gonna be weird, you're going to stare at your phone for 2 hours. You have no idea what she's doing when she replies, she may be with her family, she may be go-karting, and you just dropped that on her notification. It's going to be a notification that sits there, she's going to be at a movie or something, check it, and be like "wtf". Digging your own grave if you want to.

  3. Be freaking casual my man. Remember, it's a crush. Your life will be fine if she says no. There are many many other women out there. I know, you're centered completely around her, and I've been there you've probably dreamed up your perfect life. Full stop, throw that all out. You're in love with you're imagination of her, the idea of dating her. It's not real. She's not that dream girl. She's a real life human breathing woman who has her own thoughts and opinions about you. You find time, you walk up, be casual, ask her if she's heard about that new movie everyone is talking about. What does she think of it? What about that new show? Ha that's awesome. Hey, maybe sometime, would you like to go see it with me? That's it, that's all it is.

  4. Nobody fell in love without being a little brave. If you're too afraid to do it in person, you're not ready to do it. What do you think you're going to say to her in person if she does say yes? Welcome to the game friend, this is your time to be brave. You want her? She's right there, go up and ask her. We've all done it, we all know the feelings, the stomach turning, the sweats - but fact of the matter is that you have to take the leap of faith. If it's a no, it's a no. You're still in the game, it will happen, and we've all been through it - but when it's a yes it's a perfect moment. I've been rejected many times over my life, every one of them stings. But when it's a yes, well, it's a wonderful feeling. There are 2 moments in a person's life that will last an eternity. The first one is asking someone out. The second is asking them to marry you.

There you go, that's my advice. As a guy who was probably in your shoes, who made a lot of mistakes, I give you my wisdom over the ages. From your other comments it sounds like you're going to yolo it and just word vomit something into snapchat, which I guess hey, you do you. I hope you at least think about some of this though.

HIMYM is a good one for that, for me I like the shows that put you in the middle of a friend group. During depressing times it has really helped. Healthy? Not sure, but it made me feel better.

It is... but I do fall off around season 7, then it just becomes annoying for me. Before then was a ton of fun. I've found American Dad holds up better for me, fun but not the annoying side

All three are go-tos for me! Have never finished Cheers, on Season 9 I believe, but I should probably finish

HIMYM is one of my go-to shows for 8 seasons of background noise now

I am someone who always enjoys having something on in the background, helping me focus.

I love me some Andor, GoT, a lot of newer stuff that is made with really high production quality - but I sit down to watch those.

What shows do you watch that just sit running in the background, ones that aren't going to win any Emmys but you just enjoy?

For me my last two are Home Improvement and Everybody Loves Raymond. Both were fine in their heyday, but now they are noise filler. Not terrible, not great. So what are yours?

In that case, you have options (but your post really does not convey that).

Personally, I'd be hesitant to moving any retirement account. Touching that at all has massive tax implications, but you could casually ask them how disbursements work if you move out of country, I'm sure there is a policy for that.

As for individual accounts, you can set up an account in another country. (I believe Canada has an account expressly for this). However as I said, tax implications. I believe up to 10k is fine, you just have to say you have an account on your taxes. Over 10k you have to report the amount on the taxes, I believe it has to do with FINRA regulations. I wouldn't put all of my money into an overseas account unless I was moving out, that just opens you up for audits. Personally, I'd think in your case it's safe to have a safety net overseas, but I'd be hesitant to start moving everything until you're ready to move.

This is 100% fear based and not at all what you should do in an emergency situation.

First of all, why would you want to pull money out of your investments at all right now? Now is probably the worst time to pull out any money. Let it ride, this will pass eventually. If you touch investments at all right now you're just going to lose money. Remember that losses are only actualized once you sell.

Second, yes you can move your funds, but there are tax implications for it. However, as other commenters said, the US is the world currency. Way more is screwed if the US was frozen. The looneys and tooneys up in the great white north would not be worth anything either.

Stop reading the news, just turn off the TV, and try to relax a bit. Yes, the market is unstable, it may even go down, but the best thing for you to do in those downturns is to just let your money sit. Make sure you have a good savings buffer somewhere if you need it at some point, but you don't need to start buying gold or anything. We're definitely not heading towards a civil war, jesus. Us Americans are much too lazy for that.

Really? How do I find it? Search for wav files or something?

Maybe an ivory backscratcher?

2 pizzas, a small order of breadsticks, and wanted to splurge and get cinnamon sticks.

Pizzas are a "Buy one get one deal!" at 13 bucks a pizza. Figured what the hell, I'll splurge on desert then with the deal. Get to checkout... hold on a minute.... 50 dollars for pizza?! Wait a minute 80 dollars after fees and taxes?!

Usually I only use Doordash for finding something, then I order direct from the store. I just saw the sweet "buy one get one" deal and thought eh, fine I'm here. Right, that's why I stopped using door dash. I'm not spending 80 dollars on freaking pizza. I'll just go pick it up and spend a quarter of that price.

At least I would have saved the $3 dollar delivery fee. Phew. Thanks DoorDash.

Fans customized the Wicked movie poster to more closely match the original Broadway poster.

Original Broadway Poster:

Movie poster:

Some fans, disappointed by the poster, altered it to be closer to the original, moving Grande’s hand and lowering the brim of Erivo’s hat to cover her eyes. The edits prompted Erivo to respond. “This is the wildest, most offensive thing I have seen

“None of this is funny. None of it is cute. It degrades me. It degrades us,” Erivo continued. “The original poster is an ILLUSTRATION. I am a real life human being, who chose to look right down the barrel of the camera to you, the viewer… because, without words we communicate with our eyes.”

So, this seems like a completely reasonable reaction to fans making fan content.

Hey folks! Not sure where to put this, but since I'm doing this to install Bazzite soon, why not.

I have a HTPC that currently has an NVidia card in it. Since Gamescope doesn't play nice with nvidia, I'm going to upgrade the GPU. I have a 6900XT in my primary rig, love the thing. here's the thing though, I was going to put it into my original HTPC, but it was too long by about 0.5 inches.

Does anyone have either A) a recommendation on a GPU that can drive a 4K tv that is shorter than 12" or B) Know of any good sites that have a filter?

It's a pretty intense machine, since the whole family uses it. I'm planning on about a grand for the new GPU, if it works like my 6900XT. Less is of course better, but I don't want this one struggling personally.

Thanks for any rec's!

I'm an ex incel myself, but I've been seeing a few users here exhibiting the tell tale signs. "I'm not attractive enough", "I don't socialize correctly", "I'll never find a woman" - all extremely unhealthy attitudes.

Personally I burned through many friendships and ruined a lot of chances with women because I was in the incel community. The community warped my view of women so much that I made it even harder to meet women, I became my own worst enemy. I lost friends because all I could think of was how horrible it was that they had girlfriends.

I have a friend who helped me out of it. She was the one who started calling out my bad behavior for what it was, and I started on the long uphill path out of it. I'm now married and stable for well over a decade, but I still think back to those days, and it depresses me seeing other people causing this themselves and not being aware of it.

So, Lemmy, for those who have clawed out of it, what's your story?
