Surely American trades some products? Where does Russian vodka come from?

lemmy is unusually respectful of differing opinions

Are we talking about the same lemmy?

limited one season shows

That's called a "mini series". :)

And BTW, Shogun was the finest thing I've seen in years, maybe ever. My wife and I were drooling for the next episode, week in, week out.

I admit to prejudice. Watched the original mini series many times growing up, read the book three times. My wife's half Japanese, really seems to dislike Japanese anything (🤷🏻), still loved every second of it.

It's always the lingering part. What was that one that fucked Houston not long ago? Sat on top of them forever. Hurricane Ivan was like that down here. Only a CAT-3 at landfall, but I listened to that freight train sound for over 10 fucking hours.

Permabanned for saying evil shit about Russians, a few times. Funny thing is how fast they would be on negative comments about Russia.

And BTW, Russians can die in a fucking fire. Lived under threat of nuclear annihilation for my entire childhood, and now the filthy gangsters are fucking with, and have ruined, American politics.

Installed one for my wife when she moved it, never used it. At this point I've forgotten it's even there. Talk about old habits dying hard.

My wife blots with a bit of TP and tosses it in the trash can. Guessing plumbing is more sensitive where she's from.

What till Americans figure out where high quality small arms come from. Glock anyone? Beretta, Heckler & Koch, Benelli, Browning Arms Company (yes, Browning), SIG Sauer, Springfield Armory, Taurus (some), Chiappa, and more. And don't forget our Filipino friends at Rock Island Armory!

Sadly, this part of the tariff shitshow may actually work since we already have plenty of quality domestic producers. But fuck me, the SIG Sauer is the standard US military sidearm and Glock is standard everywhere else. Have fun cop budgets!

Every move he makes, every word he speaks falls under one of those items. Spot on!

They have trained me to shoot first, ask questions later. And I mean that most literally. FFS, they come in unidentified, and even with ID, with no warrants.

I know it's a harder pill to swallow for younger folks, but my old ass has put serious thought into dying with my boots on. Trump will be going after legal immigrants next, like my wife. FFS, they're taking white people already.

Exactly my take, spot on.

They run to their Republicans, voting blindly like always.

Perhaps a glimmer of hope in NW Florida? Voted for the Democrat I knew would lose yesterday (special election to replace Gaetz.) She lost, but we closed the gap and the other Florida election closed it tighter.

Been saying for years, vote even if you know you're candidate will lose. These fuckers can read spreadsheets, and hopefully we can make them see the walls closing in. But yeah, had a wild day yesterday and it was a pain to take time out to vote for a loser. But goddammit, my voice will be heard.

Anyone know the details? I'll start a new one if I can.

First off, homemade napalm is in no way illegal, nor does it explode. You've watched too many Vietnam movies. What it does do is burn. Forever. More on campfires to come.

Put a couple of fingers of unleaded in a pickle (wide mouthed) jar, stuff waste Styrofoam in it. You can jam the contents of a 40" TV packaging in a quart jar.

That's it, that easy. Keep cramming the foam in until you get a taffy consistency. Too much and it's too hard to dig out with a stick. Too little and it slips off your stick.

I keep a jar at my campsite and one in the house for starting our little fire pit. A golf ball chunk will start soaking wet kindling.

PRO TIP: Spread the goo on a cookie pan, 1.4" thick, let it dry in the summer sun, cut into little pieces with scissors, put it in a little plastic box (that you had saved already, right?). Now you can pack it out with no mess, no smell!

Never goes bad, as far as I know, can't be too dry.

Picked up a dozen hiking the railroad tracks yesterday. Seems I ought to be able to do something creative with them. I usually don't create purely for art's sake, I want it to be practical.

I can wire wheel the rust off but can't heat it enough to work that way.
