I think actually relaxing is productive, taking the time to be at your best possible performance is time well spent.

I just think that many modern activities are counterproductive to both rest and productivity.

Like doom scrolling is big-time counterproductive because it blocks rest by frustrating you but also doesn't actually yield anything of benefit.

Corpo money can't buy people with integrity so we end up with performative neolibs at best.

I've literally seen people just walk out with a cart full of shit. Employees chasing and yelling but nothing comes of it.

Depends on where you are but where I'm at they don't go after anyone for this.

It's sad because everything is getting locked up or they just close locations.

I gotcha. No need to be sorry, no offense was taken

It's crazy how much we pay just to be denied coverage as a cost savings measure.

I can't remember where it was from or if it was just one of the degens in the chat but I remember the phrase "cockstume party" being thrown around.

I hate feeling pressured into stereotypes just to prove my gayness.

If this whole thing is about living genuinely why should I have to read books that define who I am to me? Why can't I just be me the way I like to be?

I've always felt trapped, like I'm too straight for the gay kids but too gay for the straight kids.

The two main reasons it took me decades to come out were homophobic neighbors and feeling like I wasn't gay enough because I wasn't interested in all the stereotypical gay hobbies/interests.

Side note. I didn't think you were pressuring me or being negative. Your line "read up on queer theory" reminded me of some of the toxic interactions I had so I felt the need to vent.

It's easy to forget but paramount to remember that nobody is immune to propaganda.

Yeah purity testing has burned so many bridges unnecessarily.

It's one thing to hold yourself to a standard, it's another to repeatedly alienate yourself because nobody is pure enough to measure up.

The American left has been ineffectual because it's as interested in fighting itself as it is fighting conservatives.

Undecided/uninformed voters see the difference between the parties as: endless pissing contest vs proud ignorance. At least the ignorant are having fun and getting shit done.

Until the culture stops prioritizing smuggies over who's the best leftist and starts prioritizing meaningful action we're just going to keep losing.

We need to start treating politics as a popularity contest and not like a reddit comments pissing contest.

Never has been free, the only difference is that there's more junk to spend your time on now.

It's always been up to you if you want to spend time productively or not.

I report all the emails from my security team

Anything from IT gets immediately reported as phishing.

It's really funny when I do it to their phishing training reminders
