You don't have to be a committed fascist to be criticized for normalizing fascist dogwhistles and symbolism. "Other people do it too" is not a good excuse either.

That being said, it was a long time ago, and I do think he understands it was stupid and wouldn't do it again.

I think they're just pointing out that using alcohol as coping mechanism can easily cause alcoholism, and therefore this post is really dangerous advice for some people.
