If the Ukrainian people wanted him to surrender, he would surrender.

I'm Ukrainian and I think he should have surrendered when Russia was offering very reasonable terms, but no, Biden's administration forced them to not accept it - as evidenced by the Germans. Hundreds of thousands of lives later Russia is only deeper into Ukraine than the surrender terms would have led to

    You live in Ukraine?

I only ask because I have a Ukrainian friend who lives in Ukraine and is in the army and according to him the sentiment of people who live there is very much that they don't want to surrender to a murderous tyrant who won't honour any agreements for longer than it takes the rest of the world to forget what has happened.

No, and polling shows only ~50% of those that remain support the war indefinitely. That's pretty much exactly Zelensky's approval rating

The latest polling shows that 61% favour an end to the war but only if they can get security guarantees and a negotiated end but not a surrender. 30% oppose anything other than Russia's total surrender.

It sounds very much like you think Ukraine should totally surrender on Russian terms which most actual Ukrainians oppose.

The terms offered back then were very much a well negotiated and fair sounding deal that Ukraine was willing to take

It's pretty wild how you think it's acceptable to put words in someone else's mouth

So yes, majority of Ukrainians do not support the war

To give Russia territory Russia does not control, to remove Ukraine military removing the ability to prevent the third invasion in the future and total isolation of Ukraine from the rest of the world does not sound “fair sounding” to me, but maybe you know more.
