I love animated movies, and I wanted to support these films by owning physical copies.

All four have received great reviews, and I think European animation deserves more recognition. I've only watched the first two so far and really like them, excited to watch the other two.

Robot Dreams is so depressing and unnecessarily cruel that I wouldn't recommend it. Maybe things pick up by the end, but I couldn't make it through it.

I've already seen Steven Spielberg's A.I.; that was already enough unnecessarily-cruel-dystopia-involving-robots for me as-is. I already had my fill with that film and don't need anymore of it.

    Thanks for the warning.

I loved the movie but you definitely need to be prepared for it. Don't watch it if you are feeling down already

I love โ€œmake me hurtโ€ movies these days (whether nexause Iโ€™m just that sad or its cathartic, Iโ€™m not sure, but if it CAN make a person cry, it probably makes me cry rn) so I appreciate that note. I already have this movie and just havenโ€™t watched it yet, so next time I need a good hard emotional thing, I know where to look!

Does the ending make it worth it? I watched it on a plane and bailed after I saw enough abuse at the beach, but could be tempted to give it another try if the ending at least provides some decent closure or meaning to the story.
