Israeli far-right lawmaker Avi Maoz accused the Justice Ministry of attempting to normalize pedophilia within the country by altering Israel's age of consent laws.

Currently, the age of consent in Israel is 16 for all genders. However, that age of consent can go as low as 14, provided the other sexual partner was no more than three years older and both parties consented.

But according to Maoz, the Justice Ministry is trying to change this to an age gap of five years.

This isn't the first time Maoz has brought up pedophilia as a potential problem facing the Jewish state.

Maoz has also referred to members of the LGBTQ+ community as "perverts and pedophiles."

got some proof of that kingofras, or do we need to see some sort of idiotic trolley problem diagram to understand your rationale on that?

just go to one of Geneva's many echo chamber communities and tell people to go vote in the midterms. You will be perma banned instantly, called a zionist in the comments by the moderator, and the reason for banning will also read 'zionist'

This is a paid Kalingrad operative using Lemmy as a radicalisation chamber, discorage people to vote, and encourage violent protests, but only against Western democratic countries. China and Russia are OK.

They use the Palestinian genocide as a dogwhistle, but they dont care about the genocide, because they support the Chinese genocide and the Russian invasion and occupation of Ukraine.

I see your previous comments, mostly a torrent of encouragement to vote. And most recently some posst about Massie's Epstein transparency act. How do you reconcile this with the Dems stated unwillingness to impeach, which, if you use common sense, must be coupled together? We cant pursue Epstein without then impeaching a lot of people, including Trump. The dems have been very open that they are not seeking impeachment, and think its a mistake. Also, MAssie lost his seat. The centrists didnt support him because he wanted to end aid to Israel. So how do you reconcile your clear Massie support with a blanket vote for Dems when the Dems didnt have his back? MAssie wants to run again in 2028. Do you think the Dems will be supportive or hostile to him coming back? I'm going to go with hostile.

My point is, we cant just say "support Dems, straight blue ticket" like we have for our whole lives. Sicne the genocide thats not on the table. It has to be "vote for good Dems, and tell the rest to support what we want or we wont vote for them". You have to hold your vote hostage to these people or you are just supporting a gencodie regime that doesnt give even half a shite what you and I think or need. This cant be framed as a straight red bad, blue good, because blue is not good lately. We need to pressure them, and the only cards we have are donations and our votes. Otherwise we dont even exist to these people. Do you get that?

You’re not holding your vote hostage, you’re supporting the status quo.

There is a post in !midterms2026@lemmy.world where someone describes how Israeli Palestinians didn’t ised to vote, because they didn’t want to enable or legitimise the system. Now they did and they nearly got Bibi out.

Read the purpose of the EFTA II and then you’ll understand why.

I am not saying support Dems with a blanket vote. I am saying that if we have the highest voter turnout ever for a midterms election combined with a record number of GOP seats being lost, then that is the clearest non-violent signal the country can send to both the Dem establishment, the traitor and to each other, that we are at a crossroads and that people are willing to mobilise and make their voice heard.

The genocide is not on the table this election, as you have realised yourself, so vote for what is on the table, which is impeachment, removal or more insane wars which will lead to further rapid destabilisation of most of the world.

If the GOP loses enough seats in both houses and there are relentless no-king or impeachment protests, then they will have to impeach and remove, but that’s not happening if you follow the Kalingrad instructions to, as you put so aptly, not exist.

Go vote, you can protest, strike and riot after that.

You’re not holding your vote hostage, you’re supporting the status quo.

Status quo is you. I mean listen to yourself:

The genocide is not on the table this election, as you have realised yourself, so vote for what is on the table

No. I wont let them set the rules such that they win and we all eat table scraps off the floor, with people like yourself doing what you are told and telegraphing to them that they can get away with whatever they want if they are 1% better than fascists. You are actually a big part of the problem. The system works the way it does because you refuse to demand anything for your vote.

If the GOP loses enough seats in both houses and there are relentless no-king or impeachment protests, then they will have to impeach and remove

No. They wont have to do anything, and they have fallen over themselves to say explicitely that when elected they will not pursue impeachment.

You have to realize at some point that these people dont care about you, dont care about your issues-- at all, and that they only need anything from you every two years. This is the moment and you are just giving all your power away for exactly nothing.

And so we are talking about a trolley problem arent we. In that secnario some people got tied to tracks. Its the DNC tying people to tracks. And you still make the choice that they have set up for you. And the replicans are insane, they arent worth talking about.

I think the key of a trolley problem is that you’re killing people regardless.

Tankie world is full of extremist young people who never fought in a war and don’t have a clue how bad things will get if you get your collapse.

You care about the genocide of tens if not hundreds of thousands of Palestinian people, but you don’t care there are millions of all races on the other track. You’re not just burning a country.

You support trump through inaction, and that’s your karmic burden to carry.

the real answer to the trolley problem is that you find the people who tied others to the tracks, and you take them to the woodshed in a big way. You dont just do what they say and hope and how they say it that something changes down the road. Because nothing will change and you'll be doing the same thing in a few years, and thats pathetic.

Thanks, and Good luck to you doing whatever the centrists tell you to do. Maybe someday they will just spontaneously do what the voters want and go against their donors wishes, out of the goodness of their hearts. Wouldnt that be amazing.
