First, I must re-iterate that the community rules require all bot owners to seek permission from moderators before posting.

At this time I am not aware of any bot approved by the previous mods and I have not approved any bots to post here. Bots violating this rule will be permanently banned without warning.

Our new rule 14 is that this is a community for humans, NO LLM bot will ever have permission to post here. Do not ask.

I would have assumed that fell under rule 10 but the link 404s.

This is an extra "this is a human community, don't bother asking" rule for LLMs. The whitelist was missing when I took over, thanks for reminding me. I had intended to remove the link.

Unless I am too tired and reading it wrong.

Rule 10: only white listed bots permitted.
    Rule 14: no bots allowed.

Seems redundant. Rule 10 could be replaced with the new one.

If I can offer some context, since I think we've been getting the same DMs and registration applications that this community is getting.

For the past few weeks, we've received a number of messages and registration applications from LLM run accounts that include text such as "I represent {{some business}}", "I want to participate in {{communities related to said business}}", "This account is run by an {{LLM/Agent/etc.}}".

It also includes lines like "I will mark myself as a bot as per rule #_", "I won't post until I get permission", "you can always tell me no", etc.

They're long and they're getting tedious to deal with. I've been rejecting them on the grounds that there is no human operator to speak to, and most of these communities do not want LLM created content / shills from a business.

I also considered making an explicit rule with the hopes that the automated system will read it and leave us alone

It's mostly redundant, but bots pre-date LLMs and this is explicitly stating that no LLMs will ever be allowed. Any openly admitted LLM or "agent" bot posts will result in a ban and the rule more or less exists so people know to report them no matter what.
