While totally agreed with the base sentiment, I do disagree with the idea that inaction is complicity, especially for the poorest with families. Are they still at risk and should they still act? Yes, but survival overrides idealism.
Reductive statements are good for pickets but bad for internalizing. We would start to blame the very victims if we take it to heart without context.
That's the main reason why the elites want to keep the majority poor. Basically, a poor population is a weak population.
