I too definitely thought Mia was trying to understand Dexter and they would talk about their codes. Especially awkward for Dexter since it's clear whatever "code" Red had is VERY different than Dexter.
I'm honestly a little bummed that Mia didn't have any sort of "code" or ethos. Even NPH had the thing with tattoos. Mia was just down to kill whomever. She also clearly had a torture vibe, which I found a little surprising, not from a character standpoint but from a, "Boy Dexter was lucky she didn't immediately kill her victims" standpoint.
But importantly... How the fuck is Dexter going to explain all of this? He just keeps digging the hole deeper. I can only assume he's going to kill everyone and then when it's time for dinner be the only guest who shows up. (Although killing Peter Dinklage isn't really in his code. Even Uma Thurman, so far she killed another killer, that's hardly against Dexter's code nor can be prove it.)
