I was lucky to have 10+ years at a job I loved. Great coworkers, awesome boss, reasonable expectations. Then the VP left. Within two years everything went to complete shit (except the coworkers although they either left or retreated into being bots at work) Nothing last :/ permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] hakkinen@lemmy.org 6 points 1 year ago you sure are right, a big part of why i enjoy it is a very good boss and coworkers permalink fedilink source parent [–] fading_person@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 year ago* I've seen lots and lots of discussions on whether people like or not working, and it always sums up to people giving different meanings to the word "work". When it comes to do things as a hobby, for a cause, or for fulfilling any objective we have, most people will say that they enjoy it, but when it comes to serving someone else on a schedule, just to afford to stay alive, I've never seen anyone say that they enjoy it. Edit: some combination of words from my comment and the general theme made me somehow think about the music stayin' alive, and I can't get it out of my head anymore! permalink fedilink source parent [–] theneverfox@pawb.social 2 points 1 year ago I enjoy working. I just hate being told what to work on permalink fedilink source parent [–] Daft_ish@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 point 1 year ago* If I have to work Im going to find something that stimulates me in a way I find interesting. Or you could just say I like it. permalink fedilink source parent
